Today we’d like to introduce you to Grant Gutierrez and Emilio “Elmo” Loria.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Grant and Emilio. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We’ve known each other since our teenage years. At first, we wanted to start a reptile or worm farm. But, after crunching the numbers we decided to start a production studio instead. We are a 50/50 split. Half of us coming from an Arts background and the other half coming from a printing and business study. Today we are still trying to run a business during Covid-19 and decide on the next direction of our company.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Just like any new business it hasn’t always been a smooth road. We have great weeks and mediocre weeks, but during our downtime we focus on the brand. Our struggles consist of capacity and occasionally escaping the fumes beneath us. We’re located above a motorcycle chopper shop.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with LUCCA MART – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
LUCCA MART is a creative production studio focusing on Photography, Screen Printing & Goods. We’re also running a space that we collaborate with other artists/friends towards our studio brand. We like to focus on not solely being a print shop or photo studio. We like to dive into other mediums of producing tangible items and working with other brands and people that we appreciate and respect.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Future plans is to build our community/family through collaborating mediums of film, photo, prints, and products.
