Meet GOE of Urbantrademark in Windsor hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to GOE.

GOE, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2010, I was released from prison and had to create my own source of income. I began buying and reselling team snapbacks on the Venice Beach boardwalk. An officer approached me and told me that a law recently passed that only allows people with handmade goods or art to sell on the boardwalk. I went home, rolled some herbal and brainstormed with my wife on how I could turn the regular hats into art.

The next morning Urbantrademark was born. I came up with the idea of adding fabrics and leathers to the brim of snapbacks. A week later, I was back on the boardwalk. After receiving positive feedback on the hats, I decided to go out to other locations to sell. In 2012, my hats were being sold in the Beverly center inside Tradition, 2013 we opened our first flagship store, 2017 we restored a 1984 postal truck as our mobile retail store and began adding more merch to our collection.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The ride has not always been smooth, there has definitely been a lot of learning and sacrifice during the journey of building my brand.

Please tell us about Urbantrademark.
I’m a trendsetter, a visionary! I shift the culture! I cultivate new vibes, I take a risk. The brand consists of these things in one.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Throughout the year, every person that has supported the brand has played a huge role in our success. I watch a lot of interviews of various influential people and that has too helped me navigate our growth.
