Meet Giselle Robles of Bakersfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Robles

Hi Giselle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I first started off my content creating journey back when I was only thirteen years old on a platform named YouTube! YouTube was a big thing on the internet where you can search up whatever kind of entertainment you can think of. My interest was beauty; such as makeup favorites, eyeshadow tutorials, and “what’s in my purse” videos. As a little girl, watching confident women or girls my own age showing what they know about beauty and how to enhance your appearance made me quick to pick up a makeup brush and learn myself. I knew I wanted to make content from then on because I wanted to show others what I can share with my own talent. I was never the loudest kid in the room. Too shy to make a peep but in front of the camera I was myself and loved being me, out loud. As my life continued and teenage years flew by I stopped pursuing YouTube and only lived in the moment. Fast forward to twenty-five years old, I decided I wanted to make beauty content again for a new social media app called “TikTok”. My plan was to post every day for one hundred days straight to see if I would get lucky and grow overnight like other creators have on this platform. Knowing that I was doing everything as a hobby and not treating filming as a task made everything all the better. I loved the girlhood I was building and the community of women whose connections meant the world to me. On the forty-fourth day of one hundred days, one of my “GRWM” videos went viral and blew up within hours to one million views. I continued to film everyday and keep growing with my girls who trusted my opinion not only based on beauty products but on life as well. This year at twenty-six years old, I’ve attended my first beauty event hosted by The Ordinary and also am on major brands PR lists. To be acknowledged in the beauty community by huge household names means the world to me and I am so grateful I’ve continued doing what I really love. I know thirteen year old me would be in “awe” just like I forever am.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Content creating hasn’t always been a smooth journey. You learn from your mistakes and that’s how you learn to maneuver your way into the industry you desire.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I do for work is create content based on lifestyle and beauty! I am known for educating my viewers on beauty products or items ensuring they are getting my full honest opinion. I am most proud that I get to make this a career and continue to grow in the industry. What sets me apart from others is that I always look forward to the next day because I know that I get to continue interacting with my own beauty community in real time and also create connections in the comments of my own content to learn about the girls who take the time to support and follow me!

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I also make lifestyle YouTube videos, longer video format. A different way my girls can get to know me and more of my personality! @GiselleRobles
