Thanks for sharing your story with us Germana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been waxing since before I moved to Los Angeles, in Brazil. Starting at a really young age. After moving I wanted to keep working with what I love but couldn’t find the right wax to use here. I only use honey. Since that wasn’t available for me to purchase here, I started developing my own. I started the business in LA 18 years ago, doing house calls throughout LA. After a while, waxing friends and friends of friends I started building a good clientele, and with good feedback from my clients, I got to open my first salon in 2007. My first location was also in Santa Monica, I fell in love with the area and did not want to move out. I worked by myself making the wax, booking the appointments and seeing all the clients until 2011 when I hired two other girls to work with me. I trained them to use my methods and clientele kept growing over time. Nowadays I still do the wax myself, to guarantee quality and count with the help of a great staff in two locations. Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. We are also set to open a Woodland Hills location in March.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Thankfully it has been a great path so far. Business has grown at a great pace and I couldn’t be happier with where the business stands today.
