Meet George Pondella of Rossmoyne in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to George Pondella.

Thanks for sharing your story with us George. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Back in the late 1970’s, there was plenty of work and opportunity. As a self-driven business-minded 18-year-old, I learned that if I reached out to ask potential clients for opportunities and followed through with high quality work, then I was going to be successful. I always said yes to the opportunity. Then I figured out how to accomplish the task! If you could prove that you were reliable and could do a good job, people were happy to refer you for more work. I started in landscaping and then had the opportunity to remodel a couple of homes. Then the next thing I know, I’m working on multiple home development projects. As the years flew by, our business model seemed to be pretty successful.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Construction is up and down. When the economy suffers, so does this industry. I learned from the first two recessions that it is imperative to save, budget, and plan for the down turns. There were lean years but then there were also huge success stories. We always put the profits back into the business. Growing our client base and always asking for referrals allowed our company to be steady and grow even during those tough economic times.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Rossmoyne, Inc. is a full service general construction firm. We specialize in commercial building, exterior facades, and insurance restoration. We are known for truly excellent workmanship. Over the years, we have built a solid team of talented and loyal employees who consistently deliver the highest quality. As a company, we are most proud when we are able to help homeowners by restoring their flood-damaged or fire-damaged home and also when we complete a beautiful new commercial project.

What were you like growing up?
I was a Boy Scout. Very active and engaged in sports and school. Went to catholic school. Prepared to be a veterinarian out of high school. I was high energy. Focused. Parents were self-employed. Learned to work hard. Shared what I learned and became successful.
