Meet Gali (Asulin) Baharouzi of Asulin Jewelry in Encino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gali (Asulin) Baharouzi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gali. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been painting and I love color.

After serving two years in the army I went to school for 4 years for graphic arts, design, photography, advertising, printing and anything to do with the arts.

I worked where ever I could find a job in the art area, then I decided to open my own studio and became freelance with many advertising agencies and famous brand name companies, in between I took additional classes when I could find them in all forms of art.  Painting, drawing, Japanese art and making jewelry.

I left Israel 15 years ago and decided to move to the United States.  I worked at any type of freelance opportunity, different types of art work and then I got married and had a son. I stopped to devote all my time to raising him, I found that while I was home with my son, I wanted to resume doing something challenging.  However, Graphic arts just wasn’t enough.. I needed something more challenging and more colorful, more delicate and interesting.

Then my mother gave me her two necklaces before she passed away.  I became instantly enchanted with the sparkling pieces, so I got into jewelry. Oddly enough, someone on Facebook saw some of the pieces on my on Facebook and invited me to do a small show. That was the beginning when I realized I could sell what I made and my own style emerged.  I started to sell, do more shows I fell in love with the minerals.

I was at some shows and took booths in a shows, Pasadena, Convention center LA, San Diego and more places in cali, and also started to sell on line. I created my own website and have grown from there.

I have been very fortunate with this project. I had made quite a bit of different types of jewelry, collections, bridal and other items, then I decided to open a store.

My little store truly looks like the vision in my mind  A Wonderland – Fairy Store.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Asulin Jewelry story. Tell us more about the business.
