Meet Gabriel Smith of The Definition in Central LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Smith.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story is one of trials, tribulations and victory at the end of it all. I’ve experienced the worst life had to give but stayed determined to overcome all. I’ve been homeless, a single father and put in circumstances that most couldn’t have made it through.

While going through one of the worst periods in my life. I made the decision for myself and my children that I would not lose! I used a method I used since a child that I would later define as “Envision Believe Obtain” or EBO for short.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Some of the worst struggles I’ve experienced is being homeless while avoiding what I deemed the unthinkable. My own mother and brother set me up to be murdered in 2004 while being a single father. This was a time that would solidify the man born Gabriel Smith as the man now known as G “The Definition” Smith. I was a single father of two beautiful daughters at the time and refused to fail or fold with my children needing watching. My children were my biggest support and my biggest encouragement to fight so I refused to lose. Fast forward a few years and I’d begin to understand the reasoning for the trials. They were with purpose and I begin to understand that the trials were meant to build me up and not tear me down. It wasn’t until the year 2019 when I discovered the true purpose of my being and I decided to write a book entitled “The Definition”. It’s a self-help book based on events of my life. I was now living in LA and in a bad space. I wrote the entire book in the memos section of my iPhone because I was homeless yet again and didn’t have a laptop. The book changed and continue to change the lives of not just me but my family’s.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
The Definition is a one stop shop for everything motivational and self-help. I’m an Author, Motivational Speaker and Life Coach. I’m most proud of the exciting partnership I’ve garnered with Go Daddy and being able to inspire the world! I made history October 12, 2019 by bringing a global corporation to one of the most infamous housing projects located in Watts, California to watch me speak and engage with the community. Bringing Go Daddy to the community was only one reason I made history. The proudest reason is that I brought them there to highlight the people of the community as opposed to their reputation which has never been done in the history of the community. I’m also proud that I’ve been in 3 commercials, documentary, homepage, and an episode of “Tools of The Trade For Icons” with Go Daddy.

I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to partner with an amazing brand and an amazing person Tymera Finley. Tymera is the founder of House of Mera which is a clothing brand taking the world by storm! She afforded me the opportunity to collaborate and form H.O.M x The Definition Black Label Collection which is a collection based on my style. I’m extremely proud that I will kick off my one man show speaking tour entitled “From The Streets To A Cell” which is sponsored by House of Mera. The tour will be packed with visuals and first-hand accounts to how I was able to use Envision Believe Obtain to overcome all obstacles and win! What sets me apart is the fact that I’m living proof of what it means to Envision Believe and Obtain which means I speak from experience and deliver services from the same position.

What were you like growing up?
I never had the typical upbringing which the first chapter of my book “The Definition” explains. I started selling drugs in the 5th grade. Experienced physical and emotional abuse along with molestation throughout my childhood years. Despite such a horrible upbringing. I was always intuitive, strong and very determined. I’ve also been a visionary from the very beginning so my current success isn’t a surprise at all to me.
