Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabien Ayoun.
Fabien, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a musician and a photographer, I’ve been playing guitar since I’m 12 years old and I’ve played with a lot of bands. Since then, I’ve been sponsored by brand as Yamaha, Burton and google and always been fascinated by California.
I had the chance to play and been produced here in L.A with my music and it was like a dream come true and since that time I’m still going back to this city, seeking for inspiration, and photography is the best way and medium for me to keep the connection with this place.
I’m still learning a lot about photography since I’m really into it for only 2 years now, so I’m still trying to find my own style.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t smooth at all, and still, it’s not. I think the most complicated things is to stick to your goals and dreams, especially when it sounds crazy for the peoples who surrounds you. Being able to do what you think is right for you and to go against the grain can be really complicated and can mess with your mind sometimes.
Fabien Ayoun – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a photographer, I specialize in shooting film, I’m not against digital but analog is the best way for me to capture the emotion I’m looking for in a picture. I don’t own any company, so I can’t speak too much about that.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment was (as a musician) to be produced here in Los Angeles and to played all across California. As a photographer I’m just at the beginning of my career so, the best is yet to come.
