Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabian Fioto.
Fabian Fioto is a photographer based in Fullerton, CA. Inspired by the imagery of yesteryear, Fioto specializes in film and strives to capture timeless beauty in all subjects. Growing up around antique and custom cars sparked Fabian’s interest in a vintage aesthetic. From an early age admiring vintage photographs of family road trips, classic beauty, and authentic pinup & glamour, Fabian picked up a camera out of high school and began to experiment. His work is reminiscent of Vogue photography of the 1940’s – 1960’s. Originally from Long Island, NY, Fioto is happy to call Southern CA home where he is able to work with other creatives who share the same passions for vintage fashions and lifestyle.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Fortunately, it has been a smooth road getting to where I am at now. I have had some great role models in my life and friends that inspire and encourage me to excel.
Please tell us about Fabian Fioto Photography.
I specialize in portrait and fashion photography. More specifically, I aim to create timeless imagery that is reminiscent of the past, when I feel that beauty and style was thriving within everything, from automobiles and graphic design, to furnishings and clothing. I am most proud to say that I shoot film, not simply for the fact that it gives me the best results for what I want to achieve, but it has done a great deal for me in realizing the importance of composing a single image. On film you are limited to your frames, versus digital photographers this day in age can fire away hundreds of photos. I think it is so special to take the time to enjoy the process of getting lights dialed in just right, scenery set, and my models’ pose just perfect; Down to the fingertips.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would tell my past self to be more daring and don’t be afraid of failure.
