Meet Evan Vogel of Super Space Nation in Los Feliz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Vogel.

Evan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My musical journey began somewhat unconventionally. It all started when I was about 14 years old and went away to summer camp in Pennsylvania. That summer there was a Sadie Hawkins dance and I was left quite distraught when the girl I had a crush on at the time asked someone else to go with her. Armed with a sunburst Ibanez acoustic guitar my parents had given me, my limited guitar skills, and a whole lot of heart, I wrote my first song about the experience and my prepubescent heartache. Being completely naive and fueled by the excitement of having written my first song, I returned home to Maryland set on starting a band. 14 years since that summer, I’m now 28 years old and am blessed to say I am still collaborating with those same incredible friends to this day!

Now, with all the members assembled in Los Angeles and living under one roof, we’re more dedicated than ever to pushing our music to new heights and sharing our passion and vision with the world!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I know that this will come off as cliché, but in my experience the road won’t always be smooth but the journey will always be worth it – especially when you’re pursuing what you love with the people you love!

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Super Space Nation is an alternative rock band based out of Los Angeles, California. We are currently writing, recording, and releasing new music and videos constantly and performing around LA and Southern California with plans to tour extensively in the future!

We specialize in our own unique blend of rock and roll, dance, pop, and punk – synthesizing all of our influences together into heartfelt, catchy, and authentically original music.

Through our lyrics, visuals, and super high-energy live performances, we strive to create an atmosphere of positivity, empowerment, and fun where our friends, fans, and family are free to be goofy, crazy, and unabashedly themselves.

If you had to start over, what would you have done differently?
If I had to start over, I would spend less time trying to get it perfect and more time trying to get it right.
