Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Camacho.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I arrived in Los Angeles 10 years ago and it has been a series of ups, downs, spins, and flips in how my career and life has progressed.
The truth is that it has only been in the last year and a half that I have truly hit my stride compared to the past. I’ve been working fairly consistently as an actor and I even completed another degree: accounting. As a top off I’ve been able to build the bedrock for the creation of a new personal IP for new superheroes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has NEVER even been close to a smooth road. The good news is that there are immeasurably opportunities to grow and learn because of that rough road.
The greatest struggle has simply been the relative lack of work in the entertainment industry since Covid. Money struggles aside, there is a hunger for more interesting projects and my hope is to become a pioneer of sorts. The issue is that rallying together others for a common cause has never been one of my strengths. I know that those skills can be learned, but I wish I had learned these as a teenager rather than an adult. Perhaps I am a late bloomer.
One of the largest struggles, and it has sadly not been conquered yet, is knowing my own value. Not only as a person but as an artist. What I bring to a project or production is unique and learning to embrace it without fear of judgement is key. I believe as an artist, we are never truly satisfied. Turning that from desperation into something positive takes discipline.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work as an actor, writer, and creator. I’m known in the vertical world for my versatility in supporting and co-leads. But my newest goal/project is the creation of a new IP for superheroes that are unlike anything seen before. I cannot spoil too much but watch my social media for more.
My thought process has always been unique. But what sets me apart from all others is not just the creation of stories but a desire to embody them. I believe in meaning behind action but at a deeper level. Emotional awareness is a blessing and a curse. I feel. And feel far more than most. But that feeling channeled into creation is a powerful engine.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The simple truth is that building a team to succeed and create something collectively is something I’ve always wanted. Verticals are the new(ish) trend and I have amazing and ambitious ideas that I would love to share and create. Getting in contact with executive producers who know their clients want new ideas as well as creatives who want to bring those new ideas to life are the best people to collaborate with.
