Today, we’d like to introduce you to Euphoria. Euphoria was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Denise Johnson.
Euphoria , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always dreamed of being in the spot light. Somehow I always ended up surrounded by darkness. Tragedy struck in 2019 leading to my spiral into a major depression. The love of my life was on the brink of death due to a bad decision (He was in a coma for 3-4 months then started his 6 year sentence). I remained in limbo for the first 3 years while struggling to believe life was worth living. We had just started our new life in a new place and it felt like my empire crashed and burned down. Now that I was alone, I was afraid. I weighed about 145 lbs when it all started, I had lost at least 50-100 lbs during this time. This made me extremely insecure about my body. I finally decided to move back home to California with my parents at the 3rd year. The change scared me but I knew if I stayed in my old apartment someone would eventually find me unalived.
My first year back home was truly eye opening. It felt amazing to be home again. My creativity was coming back, I didn’t feel so drained, & I felt love again. Then it hit me. I told myself I need to start expanding my horizons and using my talents. I began dancing, modeling, and writing more. I began pouring into myself. It was so hard enjoying life due to feelings of loneliness and pain but through the lord I learned so many things.
My second year back I would win 1st & 3rd place in the pole dancing competition. I also started performances on other club stages with well known names. It felt so good to finally see the star I already was. At this point I was starting to need headshots and professional pictures so I dipped a toe into modeling. This is where my modeling journey truly began. I started attending group shoots and practicing my craft.
My third year I am now a published model as well as a well known dancer. I have been in 1 fashion show and working on my portfolio.
Moral of the story is to keep climbing toward the light. Darkness can become unbearable and may consume you if you let it. This is your life. Not the demons, not the pain you feel, not your friends or your family. Make sure you SEE yourself fully!
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I am a professional pole dancer and model but I do have a 9-5 job. I think my work ethic sets me apart from others. I have a hustler mentality. Growing up my mom was a single mother so I’ve always known what it is like to work hard. Poor or rich I’ve always had goals. I think my kindness also sets me apart from others. I choose to be patient and try to understand everyone’s perspective. I love performing. I love being on stage and showing people my art. I love when people get the message I am trying to portray in my dancing or modeling.
Denise Johnson has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Denise and your experience with them.
Denise is such a wonderful photographer. I first met Denise at a group Barbie shoot. I was super nervous because this was one of the first shoots I had done in a while. Denise made the environment feel safe. I love her patience and honesty. She allows you to work however you please but will let you know when something looks a little off. She has a great eye for color matching as well as styling. I love working with her. She is a sweet pea.
