Today we’d like to introduce you to Esmeralda Vera Hernandez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
This journey began back when I was about 16 years old, I started to like watching makeup tutorials and my friend would always show me how she would do her makeup. I started to get intrigued and maybe wanted to try some on. So a couple of years past and I decided to go to a makeup academy to get certified. Today I am now certified and I’ve decided to create my own Instagram page and Facebook page by posting tutorials and makeup looks. Also, I am about to launch some lashes on my own website very soon!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been that smooth of a road. I am a Latina and proud to be one. But we as Latinos have many struggles. Mine was my mom. She as a single mother has been the main provider for my family. I really appreciate her, and she struggled so much to get us to where we are today. Thanks to her I got certified and I am now doing what I love.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mua Sme story. Tell us more about the business.
Mua Sme is my brand name and well, I will be selling beauty cosmetics that a girl now wears every day! I, as a Makeup Artist, know what are the needs of us girls that love to get glammed for pictures or just cause. And one of those items is the lashes that I will be launching. Also, many more cosmetics that I am excited to soon be announcing on my social media. I’m very proud that I’ve decided to start my own little business because it’s something I love and a little extra I will be receiving!
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Definitely, my family has been the role of luck for always being there and pushing me to not give up! And they’re still pushing me with the starting of my new business.
