Meet Eric Hall of Salute To The Power in Bellflower

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Hall.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story – how life molded me into a personal trainer. As a young man growing up in a place where sports was my outlet and what kept me on the right side of my life, athleticism played a big part in my life. I played pop warner football for most of my youth and ran track through Jr. High and High School. I even had the opportunity to receive a college scholarship for track. I was always looked at as a role model around my neighborhood. The guys and I would workout and play football until the street light came on. We were all competitive and I would be the one testing everyone’s toughness when we lifted and exercised. As life went on, I spent some time overseas working with individuals from the military. These individuals had rigorous training and that presented a great challenge for me. It helped motivate me to work harder, take care of my body, and going forward made it a true lifestyle change.

From this point, I was interested in training people, so I started educating myself on what it would take to be a personal trainer. I have since taken numerous courses and I also had to figure out what type of personal trainer I wanted to be. I was inspired by different role models and would watch different social media videos. I enjoy mentoring my clients by showing them what it takes to be in shape and helping them become the best version of themselves.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Some of the obstacles have been educating myself on the body and how all the muscles in the body mechanically work and staying up to date on the different approaches to the body. Balancing time with a business and life can present its challenges, although I love working with my clients and taking out the time so they get the best results, I also need to find time for myself. Finally, trying to adapt to the new era of technology and social media is a challenge in itself. Overall, I feel as though it has been a smooth road so far because I truly enjoy what I do.

Salute To The Power – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Salute To The Power is a family ran business with my son Akil. We train a diverse group of individuals looking to accomplish many different goals with their bodies. Mentally we help prepare individuals to overcome adversity and to stay disciplined in all aspects of life. We help clients build strength, speed, and agility. At our facility, we are known to have an environment of love, laughter, happiness and one with nature. We are most proud of helping people maximize their potential and achieving the goals that they set out. Our honesty and transparency set us apart from others as we continue to grow. As a company, we have to hold ourselves accountable and be consistent with our values. Empathy is one of our core values that clients express that they see when they come to our facility.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success comes from within… I define success as being able to make tough decisions and living with the results, enjoying the process in anything you set out to accomplish. Here at Salute To The Power, our client’s success is part of our success. My criteria is putting 110% and expecting nothing less, setting out goals for growth and longevity, accomplishing small goals to get to the ultimate goal.
