Meet Emmanuel Dossetti of Massilia and Zinqué

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emmanuel Dossetti.

Born in Marseille, France, Emmanuel initially came to the US to obtain his MBA. He has been a serial entrepreneur for most of his career, with businesses in fashion, technology, and entertainment before opening the first Zinqué in Venice 8 years ago. He has since opened three more locations, as well as a spin-off concept called Massilia in Santa Monica. Two more Zinqués are slated to open in 2019 in San Diego and Scottsdale, Arizona.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The usual struggles! Money, time, expansion…

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Massilia and Zinqué – what should we know?
We create, open and operate restaurant concepts with a French twist, and we are now expanding into private membership/athletic clubs. We are proud of our company culture (many of our employees have been with us for years, unusual in the hospitality business) and that we are able to open concepts that we truly love to enjoy with our friends and family!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Singularity of vision and sticking to it, regardless of what might be “commercial.”
