Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Gallagher.
Emily, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I always knew I wanted a business, but never knew what to do or how to start. I had a brother who was a coach and showed me an industry I had no idea about. After my father passed away, I realized corporate work wasn’t going to fulfill me and ended up getting into network marketing. That was really the doorway that took me to what I do now.
It was where I started speaking on stages, traveling the world for work, coaching clients, building a team & throwing events.
I always had a feeling though, that it wasn’t what I wanted to do forever, and eventually decided to become a coach.
Through working at Lululemon, as a community manager while I was building my business, I realized that the people I loved connecting with, were wellness entrepreneurs – which is what started me working with them in my own business as a business coach.
This was also around the time that I started throwing regular events, Conscious Boss Clique, which started in NZ, and I have now had over 30 events around the world including LA, London, and Australia.
Today, I work with coaches, consultants and online service providers supporting them in scaling their businesses, and still throw events around the world.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Is it ever a smooth road? ha no, there has been so many twists, turns, doubts and overwhelming moments! Many times where I wanted to throw in the towel. HEll, even getting started took me about three years of second guessing things so much so that I was too scared to start.
I’ve had bad launches, four people at events, 2 am work sessions fixing bugs in systems, and everything in between!
Now, I know, that when things aren’t working out the way ‘we’ want them to, it’s not that it’s wrong, or something is broken… it simply means there is a redirection happening.
So, for anyone starting out, I would say firstly START, this is the most important piece. Before you’re ready, before you know how it is going to work out. Before all of that.
Then, I would say, show up fully, be curious, follow what lights you up, build as many relationships as you can, and trust the process. If you’re doing everything you can, then you will always figure it out.
The road will take many turns, and trusting it is turning you in the right direction will help you so much in staying committed to what you want to create.
