Meet Emily Eckstein of Fit Food Junkies™

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Eckstein.

Hi Emily, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a certified group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and motivational speaker. Overcoming obstacles and improving one’s mindset has been my signature approach. Determined not to allow wearing a back brace for scoliosis deter me, I was soon able to hurdle over this challenge by excelling in track and field and dance. I am a passionate, life-long fitness guru and a USC alumna with a major in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. I am the host and founder of “Fit Food Junkies” Podcast” and currently work in the corporate health and wellness industry. You can catch me on the season finale of FOX’s “Ultimate Tag”, now on Hulu. In both work and life, I focus on performance and train myself and clients to do whatever it takes to reach their breakthrough moments, both physically and mentally. Let’s start on our health and fitness journey together!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of ten. As an active child, I was devastated that I could not run or play sports like I loved to do. After five years of wearing a back brace and doctors telling me that I cannot run, dance, or cheer, I was able to overcome this obstacle and prove them wrong. This allowed me to become so passionate about moving my body, as well as motivating others through fitness. I never take my body or movement for granted after this experience. I then started a charity to give back to kids who could not afford back braces and additionally motivate people each and every day to overcome their adversities in life and utilize their athletic abilities through mind and body and utmost gratitude.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am the founder of Fit Food Junkies™, a fitness company as well as the host and founder of Fit Food Junkies Podcast, “Addicted to Health” all about fitness, mindset, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and reaching your breakthrough moment! I currently do group and personal training and teach Body Pump, muscle conditioning, HIIT, spin, mat pilates, stretch, and much more! I also work full-time in sales for a healthcare company. Definitely learning how to juggle it all! I am known for being “addicted to health” in the best way possible. What sets me apart from others is my mindset. I have grit and tenacity like no other. Whether it was competing on a broken foot on FOX’s “Ultimate Tag” or competing in races like Spartan or a half marathon, nothing can stop me. My mission is to teach people how to have this strong mindset in all forms of life. I am most proud of how my brand impacts people through not just the body but also the mind. I offer classes via Zoom, corporate zoom workouts, in-person personal and group training classes, and mindset/motivational coaching.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I have definitely had my own struggles with balancing it all, learning how to have a healthy relationship with food and exercise, and discovering how to reach my breakthrough moments in life. It all comes down to mindset, and that’s what I practice and preach!
