Meet Elizabeth Holland of M8trix Communications in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Holland.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Twenty years ago, I worked for a Telecommunications boutique in the L.A.Valley helping in the office, pulling cable, help desk, and etc. I received a lot of experience but I decided at the time, it just wasn’t a fit. After all, I was a young girl trying to find my niche and pulling cable wasn’t my forte.

You see, I had dreams and inspirations to become an Entrepreneur and Business Owner; and the only way to do that was with a solid education and experience. So, I decided to head back to school full-time while working full-time for a few Telecommunications carriers. At the time, I already had the knowing that the jobs I would accept would be a conduit to my future. A stepping stone to the reality of an experienced entrepreneur. But I didn’t know that technology would be my schtick and be my best ally to this very day.

So, for a decade I worked at West Corporation, Verizon, and CenturyLink. Putting in my time as they say. I wasn’t much of a “job hopper” since stability and business ethics were huge to me. So, I learned the business and decided it was time to “jump ship” after I believed I had all the right tools to succeed as a business owner. So, I left my day job as a Sales Representative and started a National Telecommunications firm, representing over 100+ carriers/suppliers and providing Technicians on a National level. Did I mention I had a family as well? and I had a great group of supporters that I thank to this very day. Yea I’m not the excuses kinda gal. I just jumped ship with my eyes closed and my ears open.

At the time people would always ask me, “how did you just jump ship like that?” I mean to leave a job that pays you a salary, medical benefits, etc. is so scary. My response is, “My desire to succeed is stronger than my fear to fail.” The day I started my company, “I decided that no matter what I was going to succeed. Failure was not an option.” So, every day I got on that phone and dialed for dollars, 8am to 7pm at night, day in and day out. I had such a deep knowing of my success that I could taste it, and every day I played “eye of the tiger” to pump me up. I know funny. I have a sense of humor with life and boy did I succeed. Hence, it’s been several years now we’ve been in business.

Oh, and the Nay sayers, no I didn’t listen to them. I just kept going and my company now services the Largest Enterprise Companies within the market. My staff works hard to provide the highest level of service whether it’s looking for a Telecom carrier, Specialized Technology, Project Management, 24/7 IT Helpdesk, or just Onsite Technicians within a 2 hour timespan, nationally.

The greatest of it all is I get to work with the most amazing people, all of our customers are long lasting and our staff is AMAZING. We are growing by leaps and bounds and I’m looking forward to what the future brings! So, if you’re women or just a Mom with a dream…”DONT GIVE UP” keep your eye on the prize and keep going. I promise you you’ll make it. It’s just a matter of positive thinking and time. As I always say, “You can do this!!!”

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all, I worked long days and hours and received a lot of “No’s” but that didn’t affect me. I’m pretty resilient.

Were a National Telecommunications firm providing over 100+ Supplier/Carriers to customers with IT Project Management, 24/7 IT Helpdesk, IT Outsourcing and Onsite Technicians servicing all Technologies and Point of Sale systems.

I am proud of my team’s capabilities, we care about our customers and go above and beyond for them. I am also proud of how fast we’ve grown as well.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a fun and a caring person, that enjoyed a joke or two! A sense of humor. But the other side of me was always well disciplined, task oriented, thinking out of the box, and hard working.

Interest growing up were like any other child…just wanted to have fun!
