Thanks for sharing your story with us Elena. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Let me start by saying that it is not easy to be a woman, who is career-oriented, hardworking and driven. Having a tight and busy schedule, it becomes a struggle to find time to do/remove makeup. When I tried eyelash extensions one day, they changed my world:) Not only did I not have to worry about messy mascaras, but I also gained the whole new level of confidence wearing eyelash extensions. Being an esthetician I took an eyelash extensions training course and started practicing on friends. Soon enough friends of my friends started coming to me in need of gorgeous lashes and brighter eyes. At some point, my apartment couldn’t handle all of the referrals and appointments. There was an immediate need for a commercial space. Since I live in Santa Monica, I rented out a space in Santa Monica which became the beginning of a great journey at Wonderlash
Has it been a smooth road?
It is a fantastic learning experience when you open your first business. It challenges you to learn, grow and become more flexible and expand your horizons. When it comes to doing eyelash extensions, there is always a challenge with every new client. Beauty is subjective and we as lash artists need to make sure we listen and understand what kind of look a client would like to get.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Wonderlash story. Tell us more about the business.
We provide one type of service which is eyelash extensions application. We are famous for our superb retention and people skills/service. One of our main focus is having employees who are genuine, caring and have integrity. These qualities help us to establish a line of good communication between our clients and our lash artists and therefore it contributes to clients satisfaction.
Can you tell us more about your future plans?
We do have short term and long term goals. In 2017, we are looking to open a second location and later will be growing more and opening up more stores.
