Today we’d like to introduce you to Eitan Schorr.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
While attending University of Oregon I began throwing concerts and booking local acts shows. I booked and promoted events with artists such as Lil Mosey, Lil Xan, Tyla Yaweh, and more. After leaving University of Oregon I relocated to Los Angeles, CA. I began interning at Nettwerk Music Group in Burbank, CA as an Artist Management intern. Following my time at Nettwerk, I began interning at Atlantic Records as an A&R intern. As I was wrapping up my Atlantic records internship, I was looking for work. I had stayed in touch with some of my contacts from Nettwerk Music Group who managed singer-songwriter Mike Posner. Mike needed someone to drive his ’98 Dodge Caravan from Southfield, Michigan back to Burbank, CA over a weekend. So, I hopped on a plane to Detroit the next day and made the trip back to Burbank with the van. After this task a few weeks passed and I was once again looking for work. I decided to follow up with people in my network once again Mike’s people had a task for me but at this time it was as his personal assistant. I had to meet Mike at the Sofitel in West Hollywood and ride to a different location he was going to so he could see if I was the right fit for the job. After a few days, his manager told me I got the job and from then on, I spent 5-6 days a week with Mike driving him to appointments, gigs, meetings, or anything else he may need to do. This was an amazing experience and I learned a ton working with an amazing artist like Mike. I was Mike’s assistant for about 7 months leading up to his walk across America. Following my time working with Mike and his team I landed an internship with Artist Partner Group as a marketing intern. After interning for about 6 months as an intern evolved into playing a bigger role on the marketing side as a full-time contractor. In my time at APG I worked on marketing for artists such as Don Toliver, Kevin Gates, NBA Youngboy, Kehlani, and more. In May of 2020 I parted ways with APG to focus on my clients I was managing The Image and Prznt. Now I have my own artist management company Plugintheox Management LLC. My client The Image got signed to music mogul Bu Thiam in April of 2020 which was also a cool experience getting to work closely with someone who currently co-manages Kanye West but also has been involved with breaking numerous artists over the last decade. With my client Prznt he is a bilingual artist whose reach in a short period of time has become global amassing 10’s of millions of streams across all platforms.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The journey has been interesting… smooth not exactly but I am a believer in things happening for a reason. These things are lessons you learn along the way to your goal. Some of the biggest struggles early on is how do you break into a super-selective industry with no connections going into it. I quickly had to learn to network, build relationships and put myself out there constantly. In addition to this at times things can become as what feels almost stagnant but it’s all about refocusing energy to get things moving again and seeking out new ways to progress towards your goal or advance your clients’ careers.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My company is an artist management firm that represents acts such as Prznt and The Image. Not only do we do artist management but also digital marketing services. What sets us apart is we are firm believers in building from the ground up being part of the rise and foundations of tomorrow’s top talent.
