Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Edward J. Domanskis.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My parents were both professional but I gravitated towards my mother who was a Doctor. I would accompany her to her hospital visits and it felt natural for me to pursue medicine as my career path. She suggested opthalmology, her specialty, which I felt a bit narrow and orthopedics rough and so I settled on plastic surgery the closest for me between art and medicine!
I am still in the same office where I opened many years ago but now, because of my patients being all over the US and Europe, have opened satellite offices to be more accessible to them. My main focus is safety for my patients but this goes hand in hand with the best results that I can achieve in making my patients happy.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Fortunately, I was able to balance my studies through university, medical school and residency with still enjoying life. Especially in my plastic surgery residency in San Francisco at the University of California that became harder for I focused on my goal of being prepared to enter private practice fully trained which I accomplished.
It was not easy when I first began my practice and hung out my shingle in Newport Beach for there were quite a few excellent plastic surgeons. Also, I began by treating primarily emergencies like facial trauma. This slowly progressed to increasing the number of elective cosmetic surgery patients I had until now when most of my patients are seeing me for cosmetic improvements.
It is sometimes difficult to make patients realize that even though I have vast experience and knowledge, I am not able to accomplish everything that the patient may wish. It is very easy to show patients on computers what I envision but sometimes difficult to achieve that and instilling reasonable expectations is still a challenge. My ultimate goal is my patients’ happiness!

My emphasis for many years now has been cosmetic, aesthetic surgery. Because of my experience and capabilities, my focus has been on face and body contouring, whether on patients that have lost much weight or have had less than acceptable surgery and are looking for improvement.
I am most proud that I am able to offer my patients excellent quality care with concierge services at reasonable prices to help them achieve their goals of looking better.
I listen to my patients and then we formulate a plan together with me explaining the different options available to them, both surgical but also non-surgical. I am proud to offer them the most advanced plastic surgical care, utilizing the smallest incisions to achieve the best results either under general anesthesia but also with awake or just local anesthetic.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am extremely lucky that I truly enjoy what I do and get tremendous satisfaction from watching the transformation of my patients and bringing a renewed joy, rejuvenation and energy to them! It is satisfying and challenging to take less than ideal results and be able to make them better.
I am grateful that I have been able to have my practice in some of the most desirable areas in the country and have such a wonderful, appreciative cadre of patients!
