Meet Eduardo Castrillo

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Castrillo . Eduardo was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Jo’nez Cain-Lewis.

Eduardo , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I was kid, I actually didn’t have any aspirations to be a filmmaker. Life happens you know. Film school was tough. The professional life even more so. You can’t just be a good filmmaker and be successful. You have to be a good businessman and a good person as well. Everyday i’m learning something new. The most important lesson though is being true to yourself.

Please tell us more about your brand, Uncia Films
Uncia Films is a small production studio trying to do the best projects we can with the resources we have. We’ve come a long way and have much road in front of us.

Jo’nez Cain-Lewis has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Jo’nez and your experience with them.
I first met Jo’nez on a short I was producing that sadly never materialized. The main actor had passed away in an accident and it still pains me today to think about. About two years later I was shooting my third feature film and Jo’nez came aboard and was great to have on set. We worked a few times after that with the latest being Bears on a Ship and 17. Bears on a Ship is a super fun film that I think has the most of myself in it with the humor and craziness. 17 is a project coming straight from Jo’nez’s life so it’s pretty amazing to think about how our most rewarding projects are happening at the same time. After these are out who knows what’s in store, if the project is as fun as these two then i’m all for it.
