Meet Edmond Andonian of Mr.Scissors and Mustache lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edmond Andonian.

Hi Edmond, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
At the age 20, I was unemployed, attending college and looking for a job. Our good friend hired me with no experience in the mortgage industry during 2001. I worked in mortgages and real estate for many years. The crash of 2007 started and a shift in that field ended it all by 2010/11. With tough times and not being experienced with my financials, I had lost it all from my home to business and much more in 2012. Not sure what to do during the loss of it all, a simple idea at my buddies home made me come up with an idea to open a barbershop in tarzana Ca. It’s now been 13 years and times have had great moments and tough times. Going through another recession due to covid, at the moment we had 4 location’s, but Now only 2 are open. During the productive times we were months away from opening many throughout the states as a franchise. Economy changes and so do people, ambition and motivation gets distracted and dreams destroyed. I am healthy and currently still run both shops and a small lounge for private events. The economy now isn’t so great, but I’m sure by next year things will turn around.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
From 2007-2010 recession, Covid pandemic from 2020-2023, and now with inflations and wars going on. Things are tough for us all

Mr Scissors is a barbershop that caters to all barbering services. We help clients decide and freshen up with cuts and beards.

Mustache is a venue to share memorable moments with close friends and family. Private clubs are welcome from karaoke or cigars.

What are your plans for the future?
I am Definitely always willing to expand our business. I have other business ideas as well. Would love to start and buy commercial real estate Oneday
