Meet Edgar Lopez of Cindy’s Jumpers Party Rentals in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edgar Lopez.

Edgar, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It all started as an idea. While stationed in Djibouti, Africa on deployment for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2006, I had a dream of one day owning my own business and becoming my own boss. I had many ideas but nothing solid. When I came back from deployment in early 2007 I had a welcome home party with a bounce house. I noticed how much my kids loved the bounce house and I saw how easy it was to set it up and pick up form the delivery crew that at that point on it got my interest. I started my bounce house rental business naming it after my only daughter at that time, which was Cindy and she was 4 years old. The business was created in April 2007. I started with 3 bounce houses renting to family and friends.

10 years later….2017. This is my full-time job and we have grown to over 100 units. We do all type of events from small backyard birthday parties to large corporate events. We continue to grow every year and are one of the largest bounce house rental companies in the Long Beach area.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been for the most part a very fun part of my lift. It was not always easy. The first three years were the hardest. I was trying to keep a full-time job working the graveyard shift and delivering bounce houses when I got off work. Then picking up the rentals at night right before going back to work and catching only a few hours of sleep daily was the hardest part. It got to a point where I decided to quit my full job to continue with my dream of becoming my own boss.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a fully party rental company. We rent everything needed for all types of special events. We carry the latest and most innovative inflatables in the industry. We rent bounce houses, jumpers, combo slides, water slides, dunk tanks, inflatable interactive games, carnival games, concession machines, canopies, photo booths, trackless trains, airbrush tattoos, margarita machines, movie screens and many more items. We have over 100+ inflatables. We are proud that we have become very well respected by many of our returned customers and corporate clients. Most cities around us highly recommend us to their residents when renting at their local parks. I am very proud of all of our employees because they do such a great job every day. The go out and work hard every day from cleaning the inflatable units, to answering calls and delivering so the customer can have a great stress-free party. Our employees are the face of our business and they do such a great job! We attend the IAAPA show every year in November in Orlando, Florida. At this trade show, the manufactures for all the industry show off their new items and the hottest rentals for the following year. We try to always buy the newest and hottest rental items so we can always provide the best for our clients.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, our city is a great place for this type of business. Los Angeles is a very populated city and there are tons of parties here every weekend. If someone is starting out, I recommend setting up a friendly relationship with other competitive companies so they can see each other as friends and not competition. The more connections you have in the industry the better it will be. There is a lot of business to share between all companies out there.
