Meet Eddie Glenn of My House Plumbing and Hardware in Tarzana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Glenn.

Eddie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We established our company in Valencia CA in 2004 when we were in our early 20’s and no bank would give us a loan since we didn’t have much collateral, So we sold our dirt bikes and trucks to build capital to start the business. Vendors saw our potential and we opened direct with every Manufacture which was a key element in our ability to provide great prices while providing great service. We stayed small for the first few years to build up momentum for our future plan of having a large showroom on Ventura Blvd. In 2013, we made the move to Tarzana. Our business grew by leaps and bounds over the last 5 years, We worked hard and went from “the kids that wouldn’t make it in our industry” to one of the top selling showrooms in California with no slowing in sight.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning it was challenging since we couldn’t get a bank loan we had to fund everything ourselves and starting a high end showroom from scratch is not cheap. We would put all the profits right back into the showroom new displays, inventory, etc.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the My House Plumbing and Hardware story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in Kitchen and Bath fixtures, We supply fixtures for High end custom builds, multi unit projects, Commercial and Housing developments all over California and around the world. We are known for our great prices and exceptional customer service. I’m most proud of my partners and myself for starting a company from the ground up and not only keeping it going but making it more successful year after year.

Our customer service and the relaxed atmosphere of our showroom keeps our clients happy and the referrals coming in, it also helps that our prices are great.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
There’s always an element of luck involved in any venture but I believe timing and opportunity play a bigger role.
