Meet Dutch Davis of SlayedByDutch & The Looke in DTLA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dutch Davis.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dutch. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be in the fashion industry. After graduating high school, I quit my job at the post office and flew out to New York to spend some time assisting stylists and creative directors, to build my portfolio and contacts in the industry. Over the years, I had the pleasure of working with a host of celebrities, photographers, models, and a variety of brands. I continued to build my clientele with upcoming artists, modeling agencies, and clients from previous jobs. Today, I am a signed wardrobe stylist represented by Factor Artist and I am the CEO of The Looke boutique. I am a visionary that continues to conquer the fashion world one Looke at a time.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part its been pretty smooth in the fact of the industry shapes your hustle and drive to want to work hard and produce quality. I’ve enjoyed my journey thus far and I cant wait to see what’s in store for me in 2020.

Please tell us about SlayedByDutch & The Looke.
SlayedByDutch is my style house I work under styling, personal shopping and closet editing. Consulting with my clients for all their special occasions. I’m known for my over top styling and bold colors and prints I like to incorporate into my styling. My most proudest moments are putting my clients on the red carpets and getting the best dress reviews at the end of the night. The thing that set me apart from other stylist is that I believe in creating a looke and feeling based creativity and not the brands and designers most stylist glorify.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would not change not 1 thing. Ever obstacle that came my way was needed for me to expand and grow. I’m thankful for the good and the bad, all lessons learned.
