Today we’d like to introduce you to Dutch Davis.
Hi Dutch, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL. My early childhood was influenced by fashion through watching my grandmother get dressed for special occasions. I grew up with having an eye for details and wanting to become a fashion designer early on. It wasn’t till my senior year of high that I then wanted to be a professional celebrity stylist and pursue a career in the fashion industry. Once I graduated high school, I packed my things up and moved to New York where I began to assist some well-established fashion stylists and designers to build my portfolio and contacts. I started to book gigs on my own that lead me to start working for myself as a freelance wardrobe stylist. Shortly after working as a freelance stylist, I got signed to an agency name Factor. I begin to book mainstream commercial jobs and that lead me to my very first publication in a magazine. I knew at that moment my hard work started to pay off. Now I am currently based in Los Angeles styling and running several other businesses full-time.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, I can say my journey thus far has been pretty smooth. Of course, the business comes with its ups and downs but none of that has stopped me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a wardrobe technician. I specialize in creating memorable moments and giving clients an experience a life-changing experience of a lifetime. I am known for delivering quality on a budget, making pieces speak and bring a client’s imagination to life. I am most proud of working hard enough that I am sought after and I don’t have to hustle for work. The thing that sets me apart from others…..I mean, what doesn’t lol but my personal style and excursion of looks I consistently give. Also, my work is refreshing and the quality is unmatched.
What matters most to you?
Slaying the world one look at a time. Honestly, the thing that matters to me is making sure my clients are satisfied. I hope my work is seen worldwide and can hopefully inspire somebody thats looking to break into the fashion industry.
