Meet Drew Dockser of West Hollywood, California

Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Dockser.

Drew Dockser

Drew, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always loved live musical events, theatre, and awards shows, so in retrospect, it’s not surprising that I have found my way into the world of live TV. However, the path to where I am now was not linear. There was no clear roadmap to get to my current position, so as often as I could, I sought out opportunities to gain firsthand experience working in live entertainment. My first experience working on a major live award show was while I was in college as an Assistant at the Grammy Awards for Musical Director Ray Chew. I then went on to work with Production Designer / Creative Director David Korins for many valuable years. Along the way, I discovered a niche in the world of TV development, designing and creating pitch decks. I ultimately found my way to Silent House Productions, where I work alongside a brilliant team of Creatives and Producers led by Baz Halpin, Mark Bracco, and Linda Gierahn.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges along the way is mindset. Starting out in the industry, it can often feel like success isn’t happening fast enough, or not even knowing where to start. The roles that I’ve had might not have even existed prior, but I saw an area where I could add value and create a new opportunity where one didn’t previously exist. I’ve realized that things often tend to work themselves out if I stay focused on the next step, rather than the finish line. The learnings from each show carry over to the next, and I am inspired to continue pushing the boundaries of what I can contribute to our team.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As Manager of Development and Creative Producer at Silent House Productions, I work on creative elements for all productions, including Title Design, Graphic Design, and Screens Content. In the development phase, I design pitch decks and presentations. Once a production is greenlit, I design key art, title design, broadcast graphics packages, and oversee the show’s overall visual aesthetics, working closely with production designers and coordinating all screens content. At Silent House, I have served as Creative Producer on “Netflix Tudum 2025” and the 30th and 31st “Screen Actors Guild Awards” on Netflix, the Emmy Award winning NBC special “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love,” “Opry 100: A Live Celebration” on NBC & Peacock, and “The 98th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (2024)” on NBC & Peacock, for which I am a Daytime Emmy nominee. This year, I also served as a judge on the Primetime Emmys 2025 Motion Design Juried Award Panel and am proud to be an active and engaged member of the Television Academy’s Motion & Title Design peer group. I am most proud that I genuinely love what I do and that I work with a group of people who are not only talented and hardworking, but also kind and find moments to have fun while creating what can often be high-pressure shows!

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I am a big proponent of simply reaching out to mentors whose work inspires you. Whether via email, on LinkedIn, or even Instagram. A well written, personalized note can do wonders. I have made many connections by cold emailing people, telling them a bit about myself, explaining how their work inspires me, and welcoming the opportunity to collaborate.
