Meet Dreberry and Ksmith of Mango Butter Organix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dreberry and Ksmith.

Hi Dreberry and Ksmith, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
(Dreberry) I started off in the car business and I also did marketing for local businesses in Houston from there, I branched off into the entertainment and fashion industries. I managed and executive produced projects for Artists (Ken Randle, Beatking, Drathoven, Rodji Diego) (Co-Executive Produced project with Jas Prince) and launched a clothing line called awkward clothing and brought Ksmith on as the designer. I later transitioned into Brand Management, bridging the gap between brands and talent securing endorsement opportunities for talent such as Rohan Marley (Son of Bob Marley), Sherhonda Gaulden(Mother of NBA Youngboy) Being a Mgr and Entrepreneur requires always needing production and we got to a point where we couldn’t rely on Photographers and Videographers to deliver so we developed our own talents in the film photography industry and started a full-service production company providing photography, film production, and marketing and branding services which prepared us for the launch of our skincare company Mango Butter Organix…

(KSmith) My career started in the hair industry doing hair shows in anyone’s hair I could get my hands in. I would do hair, make up and design my own clothes for each show because I did not have the budget to pay someone for my hair shows. I was hired by Dreberry to design clothes for his clothing line (Awkward Clothing) after sneaking in his design studio and creating a piece while he was not there… I designed a new collection and we ended up being requested to not only walk the runway for fashion shows but were hired to produce fashion shows nationally because our segments were so creative from NEW YORK, Houston Rockets, and shows across LA. I begin to get requests to style talent for photoshoots, music videos and magazines with the awkward clothing and that is where I accidentally stumbled up on my photography talents.

After teaming up with a local photographer, he taught me how to edit and later on another Photographer taught me how to shoot. Our Photographers stopped being dependable so Dreberry and I took a leap of faith and started doing our own photography and videography which led to the birth of our full-service production company. Our resumes include working with brands and celebrity clients such as Tami Roman, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Houston Rockets, Yung Berg, Eva Marcille, Sherhonda Gaulden, Airhead Bites. While doing a photoshoot, I fell off a bridge and broke my neck which left me in a wheelchair and a walker for four years. I had to have three emergency surgeries and I was on 36 pills a day. My skin was in such bad shape and I needed a solution. We were introduced to Raw Mango Butter, it not only transformed my skin but it healed it so much that we knew we had to bring this product to market and create more products. We teamed up to launch the product and later further developed it into a collection of men and women’s products; we offer Whipped Butter with Moisturizer body scrubs and beard butter.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not, name a successful story that has been? There have been so many obstacles, when I (KSmith) broke my neck we were in the prime of business for our production company, we were overbooked, and I had to have emergency surgery that left me in a wheelchair and limited in what I could do, Dreberry eventually had to shut operations down to take care of me because we had no one else to do such. We lost a lot, but ironically during this time is when we were introduced to the foundation of our skincare products Mango Butter. We had to rebuild piece by piece and it wasn’t overnight, and there has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears but it has shaped us into who we are today.
