Meet Dr. Tali Kahan of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Tali Kahan

Hi Dr. Tali, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been enthralled by naturopathic medicine from a young age, enchanted by the powerful connection between mind, body, spirit, and community grounded in science and evidence based integrative and functional medicine. My journey into medicine began with undergraduate studies in Integrative Health and I spent summers on farms and in intentional communities like Pachamama and Auroville, where I first discovered the transformative power of plants and herbal therapeutics. I became a yoga and meditation teacher, Ayurvedic practitioner and Western clinical herbalist. One memorable moment was when I created a “love potion” elixir for a friend’s party, a spark that led to launching a tea company, blending tradition with innovation.

Inspired by these experiences, I pursued a career as a Naturopathic Medical Doctor at Bastyr University, where I became captivated by the synergy of women’s, digestive, and mental health. Through preceptorships in endocrinology at Scripps, chronic complex cases including mold toxicity and lyme disease, and mental health training at the Amen Clinics, I honed a patient centered approach that focuses on root cause care.

Today I further specialize in women’s health and fertility at Well People Healing Center in Brentwood, and primary care for women’s health, urgent care, autoimmune, and chronic complex conditions at the Wella Clinic in Roseville. Today, my work is dedicated to empowering people through integrative, root-cause medicine, blending the wisdom of evidence based natural medicine with the rigor of modern science.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Along the way, I’ve navigated challenges such as skepticism about holistic approaches and the complexities of integrating traditional healing with modern science. Balancing rigorous academic training with the exploration of diverse healing practices wasn’t always easy. Yet, these struggles have enriched my journey, teaching me resilience and deepening my commitment to compassionate, integrative care.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Naturopathic Medical Doctor specializing in women’s health. I combine conventional medicine with evidence based natural therapies to help patients achieve lasting wellness. Using advanced functional lab testing and diagnostics, I create personalized healing protocols that blend herbal medicine, vitamins, nutraceuticals, nutrition, biohacking tools, BHRT, peptides, and lifestyle interventions with conventional care. My focus is on treating hormone imbalances and fertility challenges such as PCOS, PMDD, and endometriosis. I also support patients with digestive disorders, mental health challenges, autoimmune conditions, and complex chronic cases. I’m especially passionate about guiding couples through reproductive health challenges while promoting overall well-being. What sets me apart is my holistic, integrative approach that truly honors each patient’s unique needs, and I’m incredibly proud of the transformative impact this personalized care has on their lives.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that true healing is a deeply personal journey, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Addressing the root causes of health challenges, rather than simply masking symptoms, leads to lasting wellness. Working with my patients has become a profound co-learning experience, where we grow together. This perspective shapes my practice, allowing me to offer the most meaningful care. I’m deeply grateful for the trust my patients place in me, each moment feels like a bracha (blessing), enriching my work and inspiring continual growth.
