Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Nisha Patel.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Nisha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Born and brought up in Los Angeles, I am very much familiar with the lifestyle we live in. As time went by, I had the opportunity to travel to many different countries, only to realize that their lifestyle is much healthier than ours. It was time to bring Ayurveda into the lives of our fellow Americans. I spent 6 years in India studying this Traditional medicine, which is more than 5,000 years old. It not only helps us feel better, but helps treat the root cause of the disorder and that amazed me. I feel honored to represent Ayurveda today. There’s a feeling of pride and hospitality in encouraging people towards what is beneficial for them. I will continue to spread this valuable wisdom forever.
Has it been a smooth road?
Doing something different is never easy, but spreading awareness is even harder. Alternative medicine is seen as a Plan B or C. The challenge we face is to make Ayurveda Plan A. Our bodies are to be treated as our temples. We are forgetting the traditional methods of medicine, the natural remedies which are God given. After decades of resistance, alternative medicine finally started to get recognized in the late 90’s. Our goal is to make it even stronger and popular for the new generations to come, helping them start with a healthier lifestyle.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ayurvedic Health story. Tell us more about the business.
Ayurveda is a ‘Complete Science of Life’. We believe in repairing the damaged body instead of covering up the stains. In Ayurveda, we help the body regain its balance through therapies, diet changes and yoga. One of our main therapies is Panchakarma, which is a rejuvenating combination of massage and purification. The procedures we offer are beneficial in many disorders such as sinusitis, migraines, depression, hair fall, arthritis, skin disorders, muscular pain and many more.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We hope to see a forward boost in alternative medicine. Yoga is already gaining a lot of popularity and hopefully Ayurveda is not too far behind. Nothing in life is easy, but nothing is impossible. One thing I have learned is that hard work yields fruits. Ayurveda is starting to bloom and is in fact, ancient healing for modern times.
