Meet Dr. Jay Carter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jay Carter.

Dr. Jay Carter is a former Private Military Contractor/K9 Handler that operated in various places around the world. Particularly in Israel and the surrounding Middle East. Besides working in the heated combat areas; he worked as a bodyguard for some of the top most recognized people in the world and renowned for keeping his mouth shut when it came to the press. Dr. Jay has provided security for people such as Madonna, Britney Spears & K. Federline, a top executive of Microsoft, Jay-Z & Beyonce, HRH King Salman, HRH Deputy Crown Prince Muqrin, Bruce Willis, Joe Francis, and the late Kobe Bryant and his family both on and off the court, with trips to places like the San Diego Zoo and Disney World, and many more.

What Dr. Jay learned through these years wasn’t only how to protect people, but that one thing many people were looking for, no matter how much money they made-they wanted “peace of mind”. After going through various emotional intelligence courses and self-mastery, Jay Carter went under the tutelage of Tony Robbins to learn even more about self-discovery and business and life coaching. He continues learning from his mentor to bring his clients the most cutting edge in business strategy and philosophy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Just as with most people, there has been many peaks and valleys. There’s been times when money was great and Jay couldn’t seem to make personal time, and there’s been time when he didn’t know where he was going to get his next meal. One time, he sold the refrigerator, stove, garbage disposal and sink to the apartment that he was living in, just to make ends meet. Washing his clothes, dishes and self in his bathroom. When he got the job to provide security for Kobe Bryant, Jay had to borrow a suit, shoes, and even a truck to get to work. Kobe realized Jay was wearing the same suit everyday-without embarrassing him, he provided Carter new suits to keep him looking sharp, which Dr. Jay has never forgot the kindness of that man’s heart, that he showed not only to him, but to the men, women, and children that Kobe met with right after Hurricane Katrina, during an ESPN event in New Orleans, LA.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
DrJayCarter.com started after years of being broke, then making money, learning from being around the wealthy; how to make business sense out of life. To enjoy the very juice that life has to offer to us all. 80% of your passion should be vested into your business, the 20% is the logistics on how you’re going to do it. Jay specializes in reframing people’s conversations with money. The educational system lets people down in understanding how the modern day operates economically. Dr. Jay trains people to equip themselves with the proper strategies of business and a “Team Never Quit” Philosophy to overcome some of the hurdles life will throw at you,

You don’t have to pay your bills, rent, food; You’re blessed and get to make these choices. To live life to its fullest and enjoy your work as well as your family. What sets Dr. Jay apart from others has been the uphill battle of life. Working through the PTSD that has slowed so many down and psychologically crippled many. To take the lemons life throws at you and say; “F the lemonade, I’m making lemon meringue pie”. A quote that Dr. Jay likes to use that he coined in 2014 is: “If you did not come from one, build it… LEGACY”.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of Dr. Jay’s proudest moments so far hasn’t been the famous celebrities, power executives, world leaders that he has had the pleasure of protecting or advising; it has been to grow up broke, 18 years old with a kid, trying to figure out life with no real family backing financial or otherwise, and watch is son grow up to be a strong man, serving in the United States Navy as a Corpsman, and now being told after all this time, he will soon be a grandfather. To know that through all the adverse conditions, his son didn’t get pulled down by the surge of drugs that plagues so many and found a way to live a good life and create his own new family… This is PRICELESS!
