Meet Dr. Jane Fresne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jane Fresne.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Fresne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story begins in the everglades, the outskirts of Miami, where I spent most of my time growing up on my grandparent’s farm. My grandparents were huge advocates of natural medicine in every sense of the term. My proclivity and passion for natural medicine were thus developed at an early age, and now I realize became an intrinsic part of my life.

Fast forward to 1995, the first year of my youngest daughter’s life. She had asthma, was in and out of the hospital and on the verge of having to take steroids. Allopathic medicine was failing me and I was determined to find answers. At this point, I was introduced to reiki and shamanism, and the pull within me to these healing modalities was beyond question. Within weeks I found my way to a chiropractor who, using muscle testing, found my daughter was missing an enzyme which I added to her applesauce and her symptoms were completely gone within a week. The way in which my daughter was healed was so compelling to me that it became the catalyst for my attention shift from my work then as a realtor, toward natural medicine. Within a year, I found my way to a six year part-time program leading to my being licensed as a doctor of naprapathy; manual medicine specializing in connective tissue alignment and nutrition.

Additionally, I studied all the levels of reiki and began a teaching and healing practice. The miracles I witnessed in my clients were plentiful and astounding at first, yet quickly became commonplace. I also started apprenticing a weekend a month with three different Peruvian shamans. These apprenticeships were years long in different locations. It was life-altering as one might imagine, culminating in two trips to Peru one of which was in the Amazon followed by a week-long final apprenticeship back in the everglades with the teacher/shaman who, with care, graduated me. During this time, I studied many other healing modalities; qi-gong, kabbalah, native North American, and many more.

My full-time healing practice, starting in 2004, involved healing on every level; mental, emotional, spiritual and physical. Interceding for my patients in the unseen world as well as the physical has been an amazing life-work, as I’ve facilitated openings in the energetic, spiritual/emotional level which could be the underlying (quantum) basis for physical healing to occur. Additions to my practice have been; neurofeedback brain-training, Zyto body scans which isolate imbalances & list needed nutrients to correct, Evox emotional re-framing, as well as biofeedback frequency therapy. Currently, I’ve moved to Los Angeles to be near my family and joined the healing practitioners at Longevity L.A.

Has it been a smooth road?
There have been many struggles but the two I’ll focus on are the dissolution of my marriage in 2000 and my mold illness in 2015. When my marriage ended, I embarked on a journey to discover how I had contributed to this, and how I could end the cycle for myself. The most important work involved Jungian analysis to uncover old trauma as well as a new communication pattern I learned which works for me as outlined in two books I highly recommend. These books are “Nonviolent Communication” by Marshall Rosenberg and “Getting The Love You Want” by Harville Hendrix. I hope to finish a book myself that I’ve begun to write outlining how this process evolved for me. The second struggle was when my mold illness occurred. Nothing adequately conveys the depth to which mold illness brings a person. I literally lost all sense of self, space and time, and could not understand two words put together.

Even though only five years ago, there was much less known about mold illness than today, the only way I knew then that I had mold illness was during my third visit to the hospital in a week. At that point I received an understanding that it was mold illness which was confirmed seven doctors later with DNA tests conveying I had the gene for CIRS. I was lucky that I was able to have it diagnosed so early on. It took eight months of detoxing the mold before I could begin to treat patients again, and then another several months before I fully recovered. My experience with the mold illness helped turn my focus to environmental toxicity. I have attended the Environmental Health Symposiums yearly since then. Understanding environmental toxins as the root of many modern illnesses and how to detox them is essential in my viewpoint. For example, during my first conference in 2016, my brain regained a great deal of focus with just one neurofeedback demonstration and that began my work to facilitate neurofeedback for my patients. Neurofeedback has been another life-changing and enriching experience.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My focus is on the healing and health of my patients. That involves a multi-faceted approach. I have seen patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, insomnia, OCD, anxiety, addiction, depression, dizziness, headache and much more improve with neurofeedback treatments. I’ve watched patients stand up after just one naprapathic treatment saying they can’t believe a life-long pain or loss of motion was resolved. Small adjustments patients make to daily food intake such as removing artificial sweeteners or adding organic foods or certain nutrients, have caused migraines or menopause symptoms to cease and the patients have regained vitality among many other health improvements.

Clearing old patterns, paradigms and beliefs that no longer serve us allows energy stuck in thoughts of guilt, shame, anger, blame, etc. to be released. We then can regain our wholeness and sense of intrinsic self-worth, finding the lessons learned and finding ways to nurture that part of us stuck in pain. Energy work assists this process, gives the patient tools such as session-guided meditations, and new focus to move in a direction that promotes healing. My healing work at Longevity LA, headed by Dr. West, with her assessment, environmental toxicity testing plus state-of-the-art detoxing modalities, works synergistically for a whole-person healing focus.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is the perfect city for a whole-person focused healing business. The understanding of health and well-being based on; a stable brain for sleeping well, a calm brain for listening to others and making good choices of thought/focus/communication, an aligned flowing body, the understanding of which nutrients are needed for optimum health through biofeedback, healthy emotion, and a clear peaceful spiritual energy system. This attention to treating the whole person is more widely understood in Los Angeles and it has truly been a blessing and privilege for me to be so welcomed and appreciated here.
