Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Farah Gozini.

Dr. Farah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My interest in optometry began when I was in college; I knew I wanted to pursue a profession that dealt with healthcare and helping others. In addition, I enjoy and excel in science and math and have always been interested in fashion. The field of optometry has helped me combine two of my passions that keep me motivated and excited to come into work every day. I started my first practice, Good Eye Optometry, 12 years ago, which is located in Brentwood, CA and this past year I decided to start my second office, Eyes of the Marina Optometry.

Has it been a smooth road?
With any new business, there are always obstacles and struggles along the way. Creating a name and familiarity with patients in the area has been a bit difficult. It’s always hard to trust a new business because they are lacking credibility. However, being an independent, privately-owned business, we treat each customer like an individual, not a transaction. We want to provide the best service we can and create an unforgettable experience, even though visiting the optometrist can sometimes feel uncomfortable for some people. We want you to feel good about the way you look and about the choice you make in choosing the appropriate eye glasses.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
With the rapid advancement in digital technology, the eye care industry will be able to deliver the highest level of clarity through ophthalmic lenses. In addition, today we are able to check the health of the eye through the most advanced retinal digital imaging device, but technology is only getting better and this will help eye care professionals get a more high definition and advanced diagnostic. We are very excited for future changes and plan to stay ahead in obtaining diagnostic and medical equipment.
