Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Clement Lee.
Dr. Lee, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
While in college studying pre-med, just like almost every other Asian student, I was introduced to Naturopathic medicine by a family friend. It completely opened up a whole new world of medicine I never knew before, which a holistic view of a person’s health, and individualized care. The naturopathic medicine made more sense to me as it was something that I wanted to be treated if I was a patient. So, I had the option to go the conventional medical school route or Naturopathic medical school route and chose the latter. I am glad now, I chose to become a Naturopathic Doctor.
While in Naturopathic medical school, I became passionate about treating pain naturally. With all of the knowledge gained from our education, we had ways to reduce inflammation, stimulate the innate healing ability, and enhance the body’s regenerative processes.
I was fortunate enough to learn about regenerative injection therapies like prolotherapy. The prolotherapy injections were able to repair my torn ACL that I suffered with since high school. Since then, I incorporated prolotherapy and other regenerative injection therapies such as Platelet-rich plasma PRP, ozone, and stem cells into my practice. I wanted to give patients the chance to eliminate their pain and restore their damaged joints through effective natural means. I’ve been able to treat several thousand patients to date, with high success at reducing or eliminating pain or preventing/avoiding surgery in some cases.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Initially, after graduating Naturopathic medical school, I came back to my hometown of Monterey Park. Unfortunately, at the time, not very many people knew about Naturopathic medicine. There were only 2 or 3 Naturopathic Doctors in all of the San Gabriel Valley. It was a challenge spreading the word and educating people about our specific profession and treatment options that they didn’t know existed. Luckily, people were already looking for our type of medicine but didn’t know it existed. So, gradually, I started attracting patients from all throughout the greater LA area who wanted a fresh perspective on their health, and that is how we have organically grown.

I opened Optimal Health & Wellness originally in Monterey Park and we have opened a second location in Pasadena in 2015. Our practice is an integrative medical center with a focus on Naturopathic Medicine. We treat a wide range of conditions from general wellness, to chronic issues such as auto-immune conditions, diabetes, metabolic disease, endocrine issues, gastrointestinal issues, cardiovascular issues, chronic fatigue, chronic infections, mystery conditions, and more. We also address patients’ anti-aging concerns and have innovative ways to help extend optimal health.
Our clinics use the most natural cutting edge and innovative therapies to help our patients reach optimal health. We offer advanced services like nutrient IV therapy, vitamin injections, specialty diagnostic lab testing, ozone therapy, hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy, PRP, stem cell therapy, regenerative aesthetics, and more.
My personal specialty is in regenerative medicine and therapies to help repair injured joints and eliminate pain. Our regenerative injection therapies are what makes us unique. We are one of the few clinics that utilize ozone therapy with other regenerative treatments such as PRP and stem cells, while also enhancing the healing ability with other supportive therapies like functional nutrition and IV therapy.
I’m excited to share the recent advancements of our stem cell therapies. It gives patients a major increase in their healing ability and can be used for a wide variety of conditions. We’ve had remarkable cases in which patient was able to reverse auto-immune conditions or completely heal from their joint injuries.
Our other doctors in the office help to round out the services in our office. They focus on hormone issues, thyroid support, women’s health, homeopathy, and functional medicine.

As a compassionate person, this career fits my nature of wanting to help people. I get to affect many people’s lives on a regular basis, and in turn, they share their experiences with others, helping with the success of the business.
