Meet Donalvan Lewis of Good People Catering

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donalvan Lewis.

Donalvan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Coming from Banton Rouge Lousiana, opportunity doesn’t always present its self to many. But I knew as a young man I was different, I knew I was destined to do something big and end up flying high. So naturally Los Angeles became my next stomping ground. The love and connections I’ve encountered thus far has been nothing short of a blessing, which is why I started GPC.

Next to music, cooking is something that I’m extremely passionate about. Growing up down south has a huge effect on me and my business, everything I do eludes southern Comfort and hospitality. I take pride in helping my clients feel important while they eat my food.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road wasn’t easy, and you would have to be a fool to think otherwise. All good things come to those who work and wait, and I’ve done my share of waiting. Losing my best friend actually woke me up and made me realized how much I needed to branch out and step out on faith. Although the pain hasn’t yet healed, it didn’t kill me but has only made me stronger in the long run.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Good People Catering – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m the CEO and founder of Good People Catering, we are a local Los Angeles catering company, we specialize in Cajun/creole entrees, and soon some creole fusion items. Items such as traditional gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice, and so much more, we also make a means taco! I’m most proud of my team and family, they are the best support system a man could ask for. What sets GCP apart is our genuine southern hospitality, we thrive on making our clients feel celebrated and heard when it comes to presentation and quality.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Los Angeles, California it’s self has been extremely good to GPC, the only thing I would change is the traffic. Coming from Baton Rouge, it’s not a lot of traffic so I had to get used to that lol.
