Today we’d like to introduce you to Don Castor.
Don, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Music has always been something otherworldly and deeply spiritual for me. As a child I was introduced to music at church and my father playing many genres of music from Julio Iglesias, the Carpenters, Lionel Richie to Beethoven. I would get lost in the music and escape all of the challenges I faced daily. I was so deeply inspired by this that I wanted to provide the same feel to others. Inspire people through music and give them even a morsel of hope. I am constantly inspired by music and it allows me to navigate through all the phases of life and grow.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely not been smooth. My parents have been vehemently against me pursue music and have beer missed an opportunity to say so. I’ve had to discover my strength and confidence. The path of pursuing your art as a career is a solitary journey that requires and builds an unshakeable faith. I’ve heard so many no(s) but it lead to the realization that I am the only yes I need to succeed. If I truly believe life will open up a miraculous path to the unfolding of my dreams. Nothing and no one can thwart destiny.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a recording/performer artist, singer, musician, songwriter, actor, voice actor, model. I’ve released 6 full length projects, 12 music videos, toured extensively in Europe, South America and throughout the US. Have appeared in Black Panther : Wakanda Forever, alongside Al Pacino on film and on several episodes of Fox hit series Fantasy Island (reboot) and Netflix’s Daddy Yankee produced series Neon. I’ve narrated audible books and appeared in campaigns for Dose of Color and McDonalds. What sets me apart is my conviction, passion and soul. I strongly believe in the power of art to unify, uphold and heal because it has done so for me for my entire life and I will never give up on myself or my dreams. My art is a journey of healing and love.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
None
Everything is a part of my journey. Even tumultuous experiences bring me closer to my goals. They strengthen me mentally in the same way working out does for the physical. It may not always feel great but it’s building me sometimes in ways I don’t fully understand. Nevertheless all things always work out for my good.
