Meet DJ J Wealth of Dash Radio’s “The Fixxx Audiocast” & Wealthy Lifestyle Clothing

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ J Wealth.

Thanks for sharing your story with us DJ J. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in San Diego, California and at a young age developed a love for Hip-Hop & Fashion. As a kid if I was not playing basketball I was always in my room listening to some of best Hip-Hop from the 90’s. In the past artist had a form of mystery around them due to the lack of social media etc. so when I wanted to learn more about an artist I would get all of the information from Hip-Hop magazines and shows that revolved around the music. When I would watch these shows and read these magazines I would study the artist in every category from the way they would dress, slang and just the certain business moves that they would make and that gave myself a sense of connection with the artist. I always knew in my heart I would do something within the music industry but never had a full grasp of exactly what it would be but as time went on it became very clear. In 2013 The Fixxx was started on a small platform in San Diego, CA named Restless Nation Radio.

After numerous disagreements with ownership on the direction of the company as a whole I made the decision it was time to move onto another platform. During this transition I was presented the opportunity to be part of Hollywood’s own Dash Radio. In many ways this was intimidating coming from the city where I was born and raised to Hollywood I had to do some reassuring with myself on my abilities and the belief on what I was good at that I was destined to succeed with hard work and being true to myself. What has helped myself become successful is the team that I was able to orchestrate with The Fixxx and that’s Codigo Red and dope young host who’s brand is growing rapidly in Hollywood, Capo Corleone who is not only a good artist but a very intelligent businessman, and also one of my personal own favorite DJ’s B-Eazy The DJ. We were all able to put our minds together to have a good show every week.

My clothing brand Wealthy Lifestyle Clothing was inspired by events from my childhood just growing up noticing that a lot of brands catered to people who were more financially stable. So as I got older, I decided to make a QUALITY brand that was affordable so kids would not grow up with the feeling that I had which was wanting clothes that my family just could simply not afford. The company slogan is “Wealth is in the Heart Not The Pocket” meaning you can carry yourself and hold your head high by being well aware of your self-value which should not be determined by money or materialistic items.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has definitely had its ups and downs. When starting a brand or a company you don’t come out the gate with the finances to finance the company so what I had to do to keep the company growing at one point was working a full time 9-5 while also pursuing my Psychology degree and I additionally had a part-time job also. My motivation was to maximize the full value of my day by working hard and putting my heart and soul into my brand and now that I look back I wouldn’t change anything that I did in the past because it has made me appreciate it much more now. One huge sacrifice that I made with my radio show was traveling from San Diego to Los Angeles weekly to do the show because not only did I believe in my show’s brand I was willing to sacrifice and do whatever to accomplish the goal of developing a successful brand no matter what it took.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Dash Radio’s “The Fixxx Audiocast” & Wealthy Lifestyle Clothing story. Tell us more about the business.
My clothing brand is known for having some of the nicest pieces of fashion in the industry from design, quality in materials and it’s all American made which nothing against companies that get their products outside of the United States but we take a lot of pride in making clothes in the United States. Another thing we are known for is our price point and remaining loyal to the companies original vision of making quality affordable pieces. No matter how much my brand has grown I have always stuck to that original company goal. The Fixxx Audiocast is known for interviewing some the hottest athletes and entertainers in the industry.

One other quality the show has is also interviewing people that we are personally fans of even if they may not be the biggest names in the industry at this current moment we give the fans an opportunity to see what they have been up to while currently not being the biggest star. What I feel sets myself aside from others is my work ethic and how I am still to this day not afraid to get dirty and take risks to achieve a goal. One thing I learned early on is you have to be your biggest fan because if you don’t believe or are not confident in yourself and your company or brand how do you expect anyone else to be and looking back on all the hard work risks I have taken it not only made me proud of myself but also a big fan of current accomplishments and future accomplishments.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Becoming a DJ was a challenge in itself because I had to teach myself in the beginning. I literally got a deck and learned everything through trial and error. I was lucky and fortunate to meet the right people over time to not only help improve my skills as a DJ but also continuously keep me booked for events and shows. Another form of luck that I have had is being surrounded by people that motivate myself and give me good advice on making the right business decisions and just how to carry yourself in the industry.
