Hi Dita, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m originally from Latvia, a small country in the northern part of Europe. In Latvia, and really across much of Europe, people have a strong appreciation for quality and style. Even casual everyday outfits can seem dressy to others because that’s just the baseline—style is part of the culture. That’s something I grew up with, and I think it’s shaped how I see style and quality now.
Some people get passionate about art or tech—mine just happens to be hosiery. I’ve always had collections at home: different shades of sheer pantyhose, patterned tights, cute sheer in rich colors… and I absolutely love thigh-high stockings. I don’t see them as something just for special occasions—I actually think they’re empowering as everyday pieces.
I’ve always looked for hosiery that feels rare and personal. Something that lifts my mood when I wear it and reflects who I am. And of course, style only goes so far if it’s not backed by quality. Growing up in Europe meant I had access to amazing hosiery brands with decades of craftsmanship behind them. That let me try a lot of things and find brands I really trust—both for how they look and how they’re made.
One thing I’ve learned is that great style and good taste in quality aren’t things you pick up overnight. They develop with time. And the same goes for the brands that make these products. European manufacturers often come with long histories, and that passion shows in their work. You can feel it in the materials, the construction, and those beautiful little design choices that make all the difference.
So, all of that naturally led me to create Ohdita – an online store that brings together my favorite tights, thigh high stockings, and socks from European brands I trust. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think that starting a business is never a smooth road, and one of the biggest challenges I have faced is finding balance between work and personal life. When you’re passionate about what you’re doing, it’s easy to get swept up in the daily grind. But I am trying to learn to step back and take care of myself. I find peace in spending time with family or simply giving myself a break. I think it’s essential to staying energized and focused. It’s a journey of learning how to make space for both growth in my business and growth in my personal life, and it’s something that I continue to work on every day.

Looking ahead, I’m focused on continuing my growth, both in my business and in my personal life. There’s always something new to learn, and that’s what keeps things exciting. One of my goals is to find a better work-life balance, so I can make more time for the things that truly inspire me—like traveling. I love discovering new places and cultures, and I know that experiencing different parts of the world will only enrich my perspective. I’m excited for all the new experiences and ideas that will come from it.
