Meet Dianne Porchia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dianne Porchia.

Hi Dianne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got into the healing arts during the process of my own healing and personal growth journey while going through divorce nearly twenty-five years ago. I realized I wanted to live my life differently from my sixteen years of marriage, which was both privileged and also very stress-provoking to the point of needing to escape from our beautiful home in order to relax. I visioned my new Self more aligned with core values of simple authenticity, creativity, beauty, adventure and Nature.

When my husband refused to attend a couples workshop at Esalen Institute in Big Sur titled “New Beginnings” designed to save our marriage, I decided to go on my own, which resulted in a New Beginning for my Self.

During the workshop, I was willing to ask my Self the hard questions I had been avoiding during our marriage. As part of the Esalen experience, I received outdoor massages on the cliffs overlooking the crashing Pacific Ocean waves below. The loving nurturing touch of my female massage therapist opened a floodgate of emotions I never knew were locked inside my body and heart. This was the first time I understood the deeper therapeutic benefits of healing touch.

I continued to receive massage in my home from various practitioners that showed up in my life. The Universe has an uncanny way of delivering exactly what I need, whenever I need it – aka the Universal Law of Attraction. As I started to get a clearer vision of how I wanted to reinvent my Self, my first step was to get certified in therapeutic massage, acupressure, cranio-sacral therapy, aromatherapy and other “touch” modalities which taught me much more about the physical-energetic body.

After a couple of years of practicing massage, I knew I wanted to expand my skills into other areas of healing work. I asked a friend of mine who is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Homeopathy to help guide my career path. Again, the Universe guided me to the concept of Spiritual Psychology and the opportunity to obtain a Master’s Degree in this emerging new psychology field through the University of Santa Monica. Immediately, I felt this was the missing link to a holistic healing movement in which I knew I wanted to be a part.

Since 2001, when I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Spiritual psychology, I have added many more tools and techniques in my holistic healing toolbox.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Twenty years ago, spiritual practices were still looked upon as very new age, woowoo and inconsequential to mainstream medicine and healing. I was afraid to take ownership of the spiritual principles and practice in my business model for fear of being labeled a quack. However, my inner guidance told me I was on course with my life and to keep true to my vision of holistic medicine as an essential integrated body-mind-heart-soul practice.

I allowed my Self to TRUST my inner guidance and not let self-doubt, criticism and judgment from others or lack of financial reward to have the louder voice in my conscience.

As years progressed, I persevered in my work, gathering more and more education, training and experience working with clients. New developments and scientific studies in mind-body medicine, epigenetics, psychoneuroimmunology and heart-brain coherence started being published which further validated what my intuition had told me all along: Health, wellness and healing is directly connected to one’s state of mental-emotional-spiritual well-being, not simply the physical body alone.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am best known for my holistic healing work in HEAL Documentary (Amazon Prime Video), wherein I am featured along with Deepak Chopra and other notable names in science, medicine and spirituality, for my effective work with an advance stage cancer client who remains cancer-free after diagnosis of stage IV colorectal cancer in November 2012.

HEAL presents sound science behind the power of the mind to help heal the body. I work remotely now with many people from around the world suffering from a wide variety of disorders and diseases, including auto-immune, anxiety, depression, gastrointestinal and cancers. It is not uncommon for there to be a history of sexual abuse or trauma in many cancer clients I work with.

Clients tell me my unique holistic approach is the fast track to healing. They report achieving more personal growth, healing and learning in 4-8 sessions with me than in years of previous traditional therapy.

My business name and tagline say it all: Porchia’s WISH™ Whole Integrated Self Health, Path to Healing, Loving and Living Consciously.

The door opener to my healing work is holistic stress reduction because everyone can relate to the stressors in their life. Heart-soul centered communication skills is foundational to my unique holistic approach to reduce mental-emotional stress, support immune function, and create and maintain successful and loving relationships.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I am forever grateful to the producers of HEAL Documentary, Kelly Noonan-Gores and Adam Schomer, the Director of Photography Christopher Gallo, Composer Michael Mollura and Editor Tina Mascara who all executed a fabulous and impactful feature film on the power of the mind to heal the body.

I acknowledge Spirit’s guidance and orchestration that guided the producers to find me for inclusion of me and my client’s success story in their film.

I am grateful for all the big names in science, medicine and spirituality who are featured in HEAL Documentary whose many years of dedicated research and studies are finally becoming acknowledged and known in mainstream medicine making my holistic work in the ditches more known to those who seek it.
