Meet Diamond Batiste of DiamondBFilms in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Batiste.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Right after I finished my time in the US Army, I started filming skits for social media. After a few months, I started working with some of the biggest social media influencers such as Lele Pons, King Bach, Kway Rogers, and Adam Waheed. I wanted to learn more about actual film so I decided to pursue my Master’s Degree at Chapman University in Directing. During that time, I started filming for celebrities such as Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Cannon, Tiffany Haddish, and many more. Now I am working on building my production company writing short films, web-series, pilots, and my first feature. I plan on going through some of the diversity programs available for upcoming directors, getting representation, and telling the kind of stories I hope will inspire others.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road and I think that primarily comes from my background in social media. Once I decided to commit to being a filmmaker and using my education to my advantage, I started to capitalize on my platform as well as connections along the way.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with DiamondBFilms – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company DiamondBFilms is a film production company centered around the need to produce stories that inspire others. I founded this company because I not only direct but I enjoy writing, producing, and sometimes I act. I would say I specialize in the comedic space however, I have a profound love and respect for drama as well as musicals. As a company, I am most proud of being able to work with the immense amount of talent we have in such a short time. I believe what sets us apart would be are ability to expand on other’s ideas and exceeding client’s expectations with filming such low budgets.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the raw energy from the city and the peer inspiration I gather from it. My only dislike would be the needs of so many homeless not being addressed in Los Angeles.
