Today we’d like to introduce you to Deví Deauville.
Hi Deví, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, I was always entrepreneurial in spirit, even as a child. As young as nine years old, I started building websites contributed to helping people expand their knowledge and business advertisement. Of course it didn’t look extremely clean cut back then, but I did well for my age. For fun as well as profit, I would sell items online. But simultaneously, I also grew great interest in farming. So at nine years old, I also began building a farm on my family‘s property. This farm lasted until the age of 15 and I broke into monetizing my cosmetology talents. By the age of 16, I trademarked my beauty business logo and started gaining more official work. I really started monetizing my cosmetic artistry talents by 12 years old, but it didn’t become more formal until later. At 16 years of age, I did proceed to move out of my family‘s home and began working hard harder than ever, regardless of uncertain circumstances. But not only did I formalize my beauty business, I started dabbling in modeling more than I began at 12 years old. After a couple years of building and even working in corporate marketing, I branched and started traveling often and modeling full-time. By 18 years old, I moved to Beverly Hills and started networking. I absolutely adored the modeling industry, but around 23 years old, I reduced the amount of modeling work I did due to the rampant sexual harassment I would face in the industry. Modeling may look simple and easy to other people, but it can also be dangerous. Many models feel too afraid to speak out about this, but it happens quite often.
With my Gemini Midheaven astrology placement, it’s always been difficult for me to stick with one type of work. I worked as a spiritual worker/astrologer here and there since I was 18 but I decided to formalize it around 23 years old along with my life coaching business. The best marketing tool was word of mouth, and I continue to work part-time as a spiritual worker/astrologer to this day! I dipped my toes in the acting pond here and there as always, but nothing beats more personal and creative passions.
And of course, I always have something more in the works to come 🙂
I have such a long journey ahead, and I’m excited to expand my potential as well as my talents.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, life is rarely ever a smooth road to travel on. Many of the struggles along the way included being bullied, harassed, death, threats, sexual harassment, being controlled by men, etc. But I never let any of this affect my course self. I have always found a way to rise above it all and defend myself when necessary. Through this journey, it has also inspired me to defend others and speak up for others. Regardless of gender, we all face the same or similar pains. I want to be supportive and find ways to be more supportive towards those who have been victimized by abusive characters.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Well, I dabble as an actress, I am a model forever, and I do work part-time as an astrologer/spiritual worker and a life coach.
I would say I’m most known for some video projects or documentaries. I have been involved in as well as my modeling work. In my closer circles, I’m most known for my mental health and spiritual work with others. I am proud of everything I have accomplished and I wish to inspire other others to carry themselves with a healthy and balanced mindset so that we may become a greater world.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
As far as the industries I am involved in, I see the modeling industry in the acting industry, shifting into more tech related work and fusing with AI concepts more or AI tools. But I do believe that those industries will eventually become balanced utilizing modern technology with original practices.
So currently there’s a big issue and concern with AI creating all of our work and producing “unnatural“ results. Nothing is wrong in the end, I believe we can incorporate everything to a degree and find a balance that retains our core humanity.
