Meet Denise Griffin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Griffin.

Denise (Lewis) Griffin grew up in San Diego, California. She grew up loving theater, took drama in high school, loved sit-coms and a host of morning cartoons. She raised two children and enjoyed reading books to them and acting out the characters. She later began a career in law enforcement and also obtained an Associates Degree in Communications from Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA.

The opportunity finally came her way and she enrolled in acting classes and later voiceover classes to develop the skills she always believed was within her. She has performed work in San Diego in 48-hour Film Festival, work in L.A., on-line commercials, theatre, short films, stage readings and voiceovers.

Denise is continuing to take on various opportunities to showcase her talent and experience. She lives by the old age adage “there is no substitution for hard work and determination.”

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. Early on, it was difficult deciding which acting classes to take. Buying the right equipment, I needed to practice self-taping. How to promote myself on social media platforms. Getting signed with an agency. Getting good headshots and having the right wardrobe for auditions. Staying relevant and keeping up with the landscape of the current requirement in today’s environment.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I do acting and voice overacting. I most proud of motherhood and being a grandmother.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The opportunity it affords for me to fulfill my dreams. I don’t like the traffic.
