Meet Denise Faro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Faro.

Denise, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m an Italian singer/songwriter who lives in Los Angeles and sings in Spanish 🤷🏻‍♀️. I know it sounds crazy but it’s a long story hehe.

I started my career performing in the musical theater playing Juliet in Riccardo Cocciante’s “Juliet and Romeo Opera”.

I was also a Disney star for a part of my life, I got to play “Gabriella Montez” in the Italian adaptation of High School Musical.

In between my theater career and my music passion, I liked to “play” the actress role 😉

and it turned out pretty good, my feature film debut was in the 2007 “Come tu mi Vuoi”, and that was the start of another huge part of my life!

When I was only 20, during a little tour in Spain (important to know that I did not speak Spanish at that time) I got discovered by a talent scout who wanted me to participate in a talent show, the only thing he forgot to tell me was that I have to fly to Mexico to do it.😅

I honestly thought he was a fraud, so I didn’t give him a lot of attention, but, well, he wasn’t😬, in three months he changed my life forever! All of the sudden I had a ticket in my hands, one way, destination Mexico city, and only a couple of hours to decide if I actually wanted to go, and as crazy as I am I didn’t think it twice and a day later I was starting an all-new adventure, in a new country and in a different language!

That was the beginning of my music career as a solo artist.

But my biggest accomplishment (yet) was winning the International singing competition called “Viña del Mar” (which is considered like a grammy here in the USA) with my own original song “Grazie a te” 😊

A couple of years later I decided to move to the USA and since I moved here I was able to go back to my first love, the musical theater, playing Beatriz in The Postman 2015 and keep going with my acting career “Soccer and Drinks” – 2018/2020, “The Dark Tapes” and “Papa” – 2018.

But music is and it always will be my biggest love.

Less than a month ago I was the opening act for an Italian rock star, Vasco Rossi, in front of 120.000 people, presenting my new international collaboration “Breaking free” with the Dj Luis Rodriguez

And just a couple of weeks ago I released a new single “ESTA NOCHE”, which has already placed really high in the Latin charts.

Moving to LA was hard, it’s very far away from home, and let’s be honest it’s not an easy city to live in, but for me was the best decision I could ever make, it gave the opportunity to meet amazing people, great artists and to start another great chapter of my career.

One thing outside my career that makes me really proud is to be part, alongside Sharon Stone, of a charity organization called “The Building Peace” , they recollect money to build and rebuild hospitals and schools in Syria.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Music and Arts, in general, are never a smooth road, and I made it even harder changing country so often, but I’ll do it all over again a thousand times because at the end of the day I’m doing what makes me happy, and to be honest I love to be challenged , I love proving myself, learning new things.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As a songwriter I try to always listen to what’s and who is around me, I love to get inspired by someone else story, and that’s why I’m so grateful that I’ve got to travel so much in my life, it opened my mind, and got me to know so many different realities!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Well to be honest, looking back, I’m grateful for every single moment of my career, from the smallest to the biggest, from the worst to the best ones, every set back helped me understand that you have to work hard, and even harder, if you want to make your dreams come true, every accomplishment made me realize how much happiness this “job” can give me and how worth is “the fight” ❤️
