Today we’d like to introduce you to Deion Reynolds
Hi Deion, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up with no real blueprint or gateway into business, I was forced to create my own path by taking risks and finding new opportunities. I always had aspirations to be in business, and with a knack for working with numbers, that initially lead me into the accounting field. Although I had little knowledge about accounting going into college, I was determined to submerge myself into the field and absorb as much information possible to make my journey as fulfilling as possible.
I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset, and strived for ownership since I lacked that feeling growing up, so I always pictured myself running my own business. With that being said, the journey to get there was not easy to say the least. After failing CPA tests multiple times but staying persistent until I prevailed, to being laid off from multiple accounting jobs, my path to where I am now was not clear at all.
During the pandemic, I was unemployed, and it really gave me an opportunity to work on myself. I stood on consistency, hard work, and making sure I found at least one thing to do a day that brought me closer to my the goals I had in life mentally, physically, and professionally. With that came opportunity, I was able to get into Real Estate, which was brand new to me but something that I was very passionate about after working in Real Estate Tax. I met my mentor in Real Estate , Edan, he really showed me how to navigate the entrepreneurial world at a high level. He was a top producer in Los Angeles, and really instilled the the importance of hard work, and doing the things others weren’t willing to do, and since this was during the pandemic while a lot of people were on pause, it made me feel like I was getting a chance to expedite my progression in this new part of my career.
As I grew as a Realtor, I learned a lot about the grind to bring in leads, and more importantly build the trust in helping people make big financial decisions. It was not easy, but through the numerous denials, and questioning of what I was doing and if this profession was for me, it ultimately built an unimaginable shield of confidence for me. As I started to produce, it really helped me in walking into my purpose of being a financial resource to the masses.
In addition to starting my Real Estate career during the Pandemic, I I wanted to keep my accounting tools sharp so I also started my own side-hustle in doing Bookkeeping for small businesses. There was a huge increase of people starting new business ventures during the pandemic, which was lovely to see, but for me that presented a need in the market for these new business owners to have a professional that can manage their business financially. So I was able to bring in some clients through family and friends, which brought me fulfillment to be able to help these people close to me reach their financial goals.
After continuing in both fields over the years, I have been able to learn and grow immensely to the point that I genuinely feel that the knowledge that I carry can shift people’s life, so I am doing everyone a disservice if I don’t publicly offer my expertise to help people reach their goals that can change the trajectory of their lives.
Now in 2025, I have officially launched my Accounting Company that focuses on Financial Management for Small business owners and entrepreneurs, and provides services specifically for each individual businesses needs. I am also still very active in Real Estate and advocating how it can build generational wealth, especially for the people that have never been privy to this information. My goal is to be an overall financial resource, in helping build build capital in order to acquire assets hence the name “Keep Your Capital”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had to stay persistent after not passing the CPA exam several times. I also struggled in the corporate world at the start of my career, facing challenges that led to me being laid off—not once, but twice—because I lacked fulfillment in my role and a true sense of purpose. On top of that, I didn’t have a clear blueprint to follow, but I was never afraid to take risks.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I strive to be a financial resource for the masses, especially for communities that lack the information and resources needed to get ahead financially in life. I specialize in Accounting, Financial Management, and Real Estate, which allows me to carve out a unique niche in the market. By combining these areas of expertise, I can strategize and guide individuals on their business journey, positioning them to acquire assets that build generational wealth.
Typically, professionals focus on either Accounting or Real Estate—but I bridge the gap between the two. Working with someone like me provides a well-rounded understanding of both, giving clients a distinct advantage in navigating the economic system we live in.
It brings me immense pride and joy to help people take control of their financial future in a way that relieves stress while opening doors to new opportunities and optimism. More than anything, I want readers to know that I am committed to being a resource with no hidden agenda—just a genuine desire to help people avoid financial distress. I’ve witnessed firsthand how financial struggles can impact lives and families, and I am passionate about empowering others to achieve stability and success.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Within the real estate industry, I believe realtors need to bring more value beyond simply assisting with buying and selling. With the rise of digital platforms and changes in commission structures, the barriers to success for the typical realtor are becoming even higher. Having in-depth knowledge—not just about the market, but also the economic factors influencing it —will be increasingly beneficial for realtors to build more trust with clients.
In accounting, I anticipate more people will feel empowered to start their own business ventures, creating a greater demand for financial resources to educate and guide these entrepreneurs toward success. I believe more individuals will seek to discover their true value in the free market.
