Meet Deborah Fowler of Alhambra, Ca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Fowler.

Hi Deborah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Dr. Deborah Fowler‘s Journey began in the heart of Los Angeles, California, where she was born the sixth of eight children in a home filled with hardship and often lacking the resources needed to thrive. Growing up in poverty, she experienced firsthand the weight of not having access to help or support so many take for granted. Those early challenges planted a seed in her. A vision to one day help others discover their worth, their purpose, and the power to rise above their circumstances. Since 1990, Dr. Fowler has carried that vision with unwavering faith. Though she explored various professional paths, including law, it was in ministry that she found her true calling. Ordained in 1997, she embraced her purpose: to bring healing, hope, and guidance to broken lives. In 2007, she founded Divine Appointment Deliverance and Healing International Ministries (DADHIM) and just a year later, she was elevated to Bishop. But she knew her work couldn’t stay within the walls of the church. In 2010, she launched bridge of Hope Community Centers, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering people through education, life, skills, and access to the tools they need to become self-sufficient. Restoring communities, one life at a time. Her newest and most personal endeavor is the Brianna Rose Institute, a holistic healing center created to restore the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Named in honor of her daughter, the Institute was birth from a deeply traumatic experience, where her daughter flatlined three times. That season of unimaginable fear and pain became the turning point that deepened Dr. Fowler‘s understanding of trauma and ignited a new level of compassion for others fighting silent battles. The institute serves individuals struggling with trauma, including generational, trauma, urban trauma, and PTSD. The Institute offers healing through faith based therapy, counseling, nutrition, movement, and emotional support. The mission is simple, yet powerful: a commitment to helping individuals heal from the inside out and to restore the shattered pieces of a life once broken, by nurturing, emotional wellness, spiritual growth, and physical health, bringing restoration to the whole person. To sit with the wounded, listen to their stories, and walk with them on a journey to restoration, peace by peace. (paraphrased) Dr. Fowler believes healing isn’t just about surviving, it’s about living fully, freely, and with purpose. From a young girl who struggled in silence to a woman called to heal the brokenhearted, Dr. Deborah Fowler continues to shine a light for those still finding their way. She is a reminder that purpose can rise from adversity, and that with faith, compassion, and support, broken lives can be made hole again.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Building something this meaningful has come with immense sacrifice and struggle. From day one, Dr. Fowler has had to fight for the vision, often without resources, support, or recognition the work deserved. Securing consistent funding, navigating red tape, and assembling a team that not only had the qualifications, but also the heart to serve. Each step has demanded, unshakable, faith and relentless, perseverance. There were seasons where doors closed, and hope thinned. Times when promises fell through, and the needs outweighed the resources. And yet, Dr. Fowler gave, not out of abundance, but out of her own lack. She poured into others while quietly carrying personal burdens, sacrificing her own comfort, time, and finances just to keep the vision moving forward. Even more painful were the betrayals. Moments when people she trusted, walked away or acted against the very mission and foundation she was building, causing wounds deeper than financial loss. There were times when she felt alone in the mission, wondering who truly understood the weight she carried. And these challenges are still very real. The emotional toll of leading a trauma-centered institution, the financial pressures of sustaining and growing it, and the daily reality of standing in the gap for so many. It doesn’t stop. The work is demanding , and the burden is heavy. But even in the face of all this, Dr. Deborah Fowler remains unshaken in her calling. Because every breakthrough, every life transformed, every heart restored, reminds her why she started. This isn’t just a vision. It’s a lifeline. And she’s committed to seeing it through, no matter the cost.
