Meet Deanna Pappas Stagliano and Christine Lakin of Moms In Cars

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Pappas Stagliano and Christine Lakin.

Deanna and Christine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
“Moms In Cars” is a digital series we created out of the real-life joke that our cars were the only place we could get a sanctuary from our kids to have “me time!” We’ve taken this idea to the extreme, doing everything from face masks to folding laundry and attempting to have a date night in our driveway. (Heck it’s cheaper than a restaurant and a babysitter!)

Our series also features other moms- real life friends and some celebrities- who jump in the backseat to participate in our antics and answer some questions about balancing that work/mom life.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Honestly, we started this as a way to make each other (and all the moms out there) laugh. The beauty of social media is that you can quickly put out some content and through likes and comments, immediately beta test what works. We were genuinely surprised to see that so many folks got a kick out of it and our mini episodes started to snowball.

Of course, time and money are always hurdles in creating content when you have other jobs and family obligations, so we do our best to meet up on each other’s driveways as often as we can, or even pull friends in for an interview when we see them at an event or social gathering.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Moms In Cars – what should we know?
DeAnna is best known from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” series, and Christine is an actress, producer, and director, recognized from the 90’s sit-com “Step By Step” and more recently, the comedy “Hollywood Darlings” alongside Jodie Sweetin and Beverley Mitchell. DeAnna and Christine met over ten years ago while on a goodwill tour to Iraq and quickly became fast friends.

Sharing their experiences as working moms with children around the same ages initiated many of the hilarious scenarios that make up the content in Moms In Cars. Both women are from Georgia, and that shared history growing up in the south, yet making a life on the west coast has influenced their comedy and perspective.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Chrissy Kling and Nicole Levine of Good Carma Studio are great champions of ours and quickly took to our idea, helping support us with ideas for guest cameos as well as brand sponsorship.

Certainly all our guest who have jumped in the car are to be thanked for their willingness to have fun with us and promote our content on their social channels as well — Veena Crownholm, Erin Ziering, Haely White and Samantha Guutstadt, Jessica Hall and our husbands, who many times are watching the kids while we film or popping into videos themselves. We are very excited to announce Jennifer Love Hewitt is coming on board as a producer!

A personal friend of Christine’s and a fan of the series, she brings so much expertise in the world of digital media, having had her own IGTV series, Two Moms And Wine. We are thrilled to invite her into the car on occasion moving forward!
