Meet Davida Sal of Woman of the Ten Thousand Faces in Hollywood Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Davida Sal.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a multiverse artist originally from Barcelona, Catalonia/Spain. During a trip to San Francisco in 2005, I met a young actor and we fell in love at first sight. I was at the peak of my career in Madrid, where I was living. I was a TV hostess, a working model, and actress and nationally well known by press and media. I quit everything to move to the City of Angels with the love of my life.

For me, True Love is the top priority, whether is romantic love, family or friendship love. I would give my life for someone I love.

Funny thing, after two years our love became pain and struggle and we decided to part ways. The cultural shock, the language barrier, and the heartbreak were so intense that I had moved out of L.A to the most spiritual city I was told and the closest to my birth country. Santa Fe was Spain’s provincial seat at the outbreak of the Mexican War of Independence in 1810.

In 2007, became a nurse and I worked mainly in Hospice care, one of the toughest jobs I have ever done but yet the most rewarding. My time in New Mexico was the most valuable. I grounded and prepared myself to take on any other twists and turns.

In 2009, I brought a Motorhome and I traveled the southwest, it was the happiest times of my life. I went to Burning Man 5 times and that really changed the perception of myself and my capability as a human being. I produced, directed and acted in 5 movies while traveling between Santa Fe and San Francisco in my RV.

While I was finishing my latest movie Saving Isis, my mom passed away in 2012. I quit everything to move back to Barcelona for a while. I began a social movement named Jil Love Revolution while in the Madrid Riots. For the next seven years, I traveled the world raising awareness with my own unique Artivist style. I published a book and waiting to publish my second one. The performances I created for human, animal and environmental rights have gone viral several times around the world and I have been awarded a Certification of Appreciation by the city of Angels signed by the mayor Eric Garcetti. Some of my images have been a photo of the day and photo of the year and many people in different countries have recreated my Artivism, which I’m one of the pioneers of this unique form of protest involving art and theater.

In 2018, I moved back to La, La, Land, curiously to the same street I was living with my first American boyfriend in 2006. I’ve recently decided to reinvent myself as an actress and start all over again. I went back to acting school. I graduated from United Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings. I was offered a theater role and we just premiered our play Tales From the Powder Room during the Hollywood Fringe with fantastic reviews. I changed my name to Davida, which means “Giving Life” in Spanish. I figured new beginnings require new names.

I foresee myself working in TV shows, Off-Broadway, and meaningful independent movies. Being an actress has always been my childhood dream. I get to share all the multiple personalities and faces that I have in me. I believe we are more than the name on our driver’s license. That is a given name and number, it is not you at all. You, and only you get to decide who you are and how you want to be seen in the world.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
All the obstacles and challenges that I have encountered on my path have been the best blessings because they are the ones who helped me to grow the most and be the strong and confident woman I am today. Life is like a Bootcamp, we come in here as a training experience for what is coming next for us; Eternity. Even thou some challenges are overwhelming to digest sometimes, you have to go back to that place inside of you and tell yourself: “I lived through this horror, I can take the next thing that comes along…”

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
During my life, I have experienced many successful endeavors and I have reached for nothing shorter than the best. I am one of the most well-known Artivists in history. My success is not based on how many homes or cars I have, or if I’m in the Forbes List of the richest. For me success is having the freedom to be, do and go anywhere you want at any time, and accomplishing all my childhood dreams. There’s nothing else I would want to be that what I am right now, and that’s a great sense of fulfillment.

I have mastered the art of the Octopus: the only creature that changes color, size, and texture all at once. I am not the Woman of Ten Thousand Faces for no reason.

I love to get my chameleon side wide open and play with all my imagination and fantasy. One image speaks for a thousand words and my eyes are a perfect proof of that.

I can go from a sweet, angelic girl to a “femme fatale”. My face is like a white canvas and my body like fresh clay sculpture, I can mold it to an infinite world of possibilities.

I’m an actress, model, and performer and I know how to play any role, from deep inside my heart and experiences. I take every photo session as if I were in a film, portraying any character the photographer may ask of me.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have spent more time with my beloved ones, including my mom and dad. Nothing in life is more important than to love and be loved. I have recently lost my Twin Flame after he drowned in a pool on July 15th. I am still processing this terrible and tragic news. I can’t stop thinking how could I have helped to stop this to happen but it’s beyond my understanding. I really wish we could have talked the night before, but I was occupied with lesser important things. I regret not being there when he really needed me. But our bonding transcends the 3-D reality and I still feel him with me very much alive. Everything is an illusion, only love is real! Do not screw this up folks, call your family and special ones right now and make time to see and enjoy their presence, they might depart at any time and you will regret not having had enough time with them.
