Today we’d like to introduce you to David Tishbi.
David, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
For many years now, I’ve had a deep passion for jewelry and how to make this luxury item accessible to everyone. I’m glad to have the opportunity to share my story, and the core beliefs held by myself and the entire team at David Tishbi Jewelry. The vision that inspires us in our work, the mission that drives our actions, and the ethical code by which we live and guide our various activities, imbues every facet of our jewelry business.
My love and passion for jewelry making, and designing began over two decades ago. While studying business, finance, and marketing at the College of Management in Tel Aviv, Israel, I worked as a part-time sales representative for a silver jewelry brand. I was exposed to the world of jewelry and the combination of the hand-made process, the beauty of the pieces, and the strong impact the jewelry has on the people who wear it. I started experimenting with metals, stones, and raw materials while developing new designs. With the help of many artisans, I began to create my first pieces of jewelry, which started a long-term love of this art and a passion for the process of creating pieces for years to come.
Today, some twenty years later, my jewelry is worn by thousands of men and women throughout the world who enjoy my beautiful and unique creations. Throughout the years, I’ve been incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to work with some of the most skilled jewelry artisans in the world, who have assisted me in turning my ideas into beautiful jewelry. I would like to thank my hard-working team and all those who have been supporting and contributing to our success.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Creating, launching, and running any business — including a jewelry business — is not easy. I have learned many things along the way, as I have gone through the process… The biggest challenge is to learn how to run every aspect of this complicated business which is an ongoing process. I had to learn and perfect the design process from creating to production, the sales process — to retail and to wholesale customers — the hiring and managing of my staff, the bookkeeping and accounting, and the marketing and advertising of the business. Some people may think that I am only designing jewelry all day, but this is only one of the things that I do.
