Meet David DeVito of The Amazing Dave

Today we’d like to introduce you to David DeVito.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started performing comedy magic 20 years ago when I was in High School. I’ve been a full-time entertainer for the past 15 years. I’ve worked aboard the Largest Cruise Ships in the World for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and brought my show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. I am originally from New Jersey and was an established family entertainer there for a long time. Four years ago, I sold everything I owned and drove to California to pursue my lifelong dream of warmer weather. When I arrived, I had to build my business again from scratch. It was hard work but now I am one of the busiest family entertainers in Southern California. And I’m loving the sun!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not possible to have a smooth road in comedy. It took a very long time to develop a great show. And it was difficult starting over 4 years ago when I relocated to Los Angeles.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Amazing Dave – what should we know?
I am a comedy magician, juggler, and balloon twister. I provide the very best in child and family entertainment. I am most proud of my show’s ability to entertain children and adults at the same time. I believe my professionalism, excellent customer service, and high caliber of performance set me apart from others. I believe I have one of the funniest family shows in the area and am proud that it averages 10 to 15 laughs per minute!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being friendly, being silly, being professional, and above all else caring greatly about the experience of my customers and their guests.
